Topic: Golf Talk / Moore Park, Pymble in Pennant Final I got to say…Pymble Golf Club is a course that is very over rated….. I’ll go as far to say “goat-track”.....houses metres away from the fairways, dangerous tee boxes where you run the risk of being connected…terrible…and then there’s the snobs of Sydney’s North Shore…what a combination. Moore Park will crush them. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Matt Griffin: Mr Consistency
He’s been around the main amateur ranks for over a year now. He can play, but probably not quite at the same level as Stewart or Arnold. I like to be proved wrong on that, however and having now raised it, probably will be at the Aussie Am. He’s certainly better than Blizard. |

Topic: Golf Talk / GolfLink and GolfLink Mates Golf link site is just so lumpy. No smooth lines and looks like its stuck back in the 90’s. How on earth can they charge for any service is more the question! GA heading down another disaster with IT if it stays with Golf Link Partners. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Jason Scrivener: Ready to Dominate I see Scrivener moved in at Mandurah to equal second. Interesting, he has to be considered seriously for a spot in Eisenhower..give a talented young guy at go over others who simply are floundering..such as Blizard. Blizard shot a 75-77 in WA today, way back in the field and a repeat of Riversdale. His ranking has to slip, and Stewart takes the top post…rightly deserved I say! |

Topic: Golf Talk / Younger leads at Mandurah I see Blizard chopped it yet again… 75-77, how can he be our top ranked player? He needs to get some form on the board and quickly. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Blizard awarded Ross Herbert Scholarship at least I don’t sleep in my own poop . My comments were made taking into account more than one round. There are others doing more and not getting noticed, particularly in QLD. Blizard won his only main amateur event on his home track. Since then, well, nothing much else. It appears you have to be in the national squad to get any sort of praise, yet there are plenty of players knocking on the door of selection that never get a mention or a look in. It’s like its a “close shop” with the AIS. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Scott Arnold: Keeping It Simple How can you keep golf simple? Further, are these guys really going to make it (Blizard and Arnold), or are they just the only players we keep hearing about time after time. Australia, in my view, appears to lack a real “top flight” male amateur at the moment…plenty of solid players yes, but no real gun on the world amateur stage. |

Topic: Golf Talk / OneAsia Tour one step closer to reality
Name one Asian sponsor who’s prepared to put and back an Aussie golf tournament? Pronton at the NSW Open was the last and how long did they last? You better get used to reality! Last time Tiger came close to Aust, it cost the promotor millions….our players are good enough to attract sponsors…. Better than some name like Young-jo-Lee, currently 10 on the Asian Tour list Doggy-please has a point and Bruce.. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Blizard awarded Ross Herbert Scholarship I’m of the view Blizard is very over rated….what did he score on Monday at Riversdale? He choped it with a 78, has done nothing much since his home win last year at NSW Golf Club and still gets an award….beyond me. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Tim Stewart claims Tasmanian Open Why would you stay amateur with his game? He’s the right age to go, played excellent amateur golf, it’s sure just to be a matter of time, probably after October.. But like all good amateurs, he needs a tour, my bet he’ll go Asia first (unless he gets straight onto a US Tour). Anyone got the heads up about likely Australian team selection for the World Am Champs? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Australian Masters seeks new sponsor With Australian Golf, this seems to occur all the time. The Australian Open….Hillross, the NSW Open…...that Korean Car Manufacture..Proton, The Nationwide Event that was Jacob’s Creek… have I missed any others of recent time? ANZ with the Mens event that use to be co-sanctioned with Europe….the Heineken Classic as well…. Is this more reflection of the levels of commercial interest in the game since post-Norman era, or, from another perspective, incompetence with the administrations responsible for the tournaments, in being unable to sell, sustain and market the product? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Disgraceful finish to Australian Open
where do you want me to start? transport in Sydney, getting there (disgraceful), the scoreboards not working, officials that were rude, dealing with the members of the hosting club, paying Sydney prices for hotels and drinks, getting “glassed” at the Rocks by some Sydney thugs, who also do not speak english well and all look the same, getting into a cab going the “scenic route” everytime and where the only sound you hear is a driver speaking in a foreign lanuage on their mobile phone ..the list can be endless… bring it back to Melbourne and play it at a proper layout…Sydney sux…never again… Makes you wonder how they held the Olympics..then again didn’t everyone get out of the place during those two or so weeks! |
