Topic: Golf Talk / Scotty Cameron Collecting

I tend to agree with the last few posts.
I have usd a few scotty cameron putters and have not liked one.
Doesn’t mean they aren’t any good, but pretty expensive for what they are in my opinion.

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Swing Coach that comes to you

Hi Guys,
Been a while since I have posted as I have started a new job in the city which brings with it longer hours…
Which brings me to the title of the post.
Does anyone know of swing coaches that come to you, say on lunch breaks etc. Might sound a bit silly, but in my case by the time I get home from work, see the wife and tin lids and have a feed, doesn’t leave much to spare.
BTW I am based/working in Sydney.

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf Club memberships must change

If you area memberof your local club, you take on a responsibility to your chosen club, which entails looking after the best interests of that club.
If we went down the path of ‘Pay as you Play’ (R.E. Riverside Oaks and the like) that sense of responsibilty and loyalty seems to wane somewhat.
When you think about the amount the average golfer may pay p.a (say approx $1000-$1500), and you work out the number of times available to them to play golf (typically for a full member that is every day), this to me still seems like pretty good value.
I understand that a lot of golfers can only play maybe a few rounds of golf a month (if that), but the sense of being involved in the club environmnt and taking a type of ownership of the course and club is very rewarding.
Being a member of your local club is not just about having access to the course, but also being involved with a club that is involved in the local community.
We have a problem at my local club where the full paying golf members are taking exception to the social members even claiming badge draw money. However, the social members outweigh our golfing members about 3/1, and mostly contribute more to club house takings than full paying members. This is mainly an issue with the older members who still see golf as an exclusive elitist sport.
For our club, if social members were excluded our fees would be more like $2000-$2500 p.a. which would be out of a lot of peoples reach.
For most public courses, the balance needs to be just right. However this is very hard to do. As the saying goes, you can’t please everyone.

I have had it about 4 weeks and played about 3 rounds with it.
As it is black it does scratch/wear easy on the sole (colour i mean) but otherwise in good nick.
Paid abou 130 for it..
How about $60 plus postage?
Can email photo if you can give me your email address

MW – Shaft is TT gold with midsize puepride grip.
Shaft is 1” longer than standard.
It may be just a confidence thing now that I have had a couple of shitty rounds with it.
Quality is fantastic but I am really a confidence golfer.
Like I said in my last post, once I switched to the cleveland I was hitting my LW much better.
Nothing aginst the Lind club, more likely the pilot :-)

Nice one AB!
I always pray on the tee but being non-religous (possibly atheist!) it never seems to work.
Maybe I am not holding hands with my playing partners properly.
Either that or not enough practice…
I would think the latter more likely!

Keep up the good work my man!

BTW I normally breath out in my downswing but not through my mouth :)

Hi Cliffmanley,
I just bought a Lind 58 degree after using an old ram 58 degree LW and have found it very hard to hit because of the bounce.
It also sees to sit up quite high at the toe.
It may just be me but I went out today with a Cleveland 58 (used) and found it easier to hit than the Lind again.
Might have something to do with the loft… not sure, but unfortunately have put it to rest already.
Anyone want a cheap 58 degree Lind Razor LW!?

Hi Mr C,

Same here.
Anything under 1 degree was very tough and the angle of the screen changes to try and throw you off.
V. addictive though.
Am about to try it again with a little more lubrication than usual!!
Will let you know how I fair.

10 putters hey!
Only leaves four spots in your bag though.
I have hit my putter off the tee on occasions i suppose!

In all seriousness though, the S.C.’s are a great putter and wouldnn;t mind a Newport 2.5 myself if anyone has one goiig cheap!

Weight and design are second to none.
Not to mention those head covers and divot repair tool.

BTW… who the f…k is Scotty Cameron in the real world (r.e. golf world..is there any other..)

Topic: Golf Talk / the best golf tantrum you've seen?

Don’t know if any of you blokes have heard of this but I did hear of one guy (not sure when or where) who belted his club against a tree.
As he did this the shaft snapped and ricocheted back into his throat killing him.
An old wives tale perhaps?

Topic: Golf Equipment / Move Out 2 Iron - Hybrid Coming

Just received my new Cobra 3R Hybrid,
Great feeling club and have subsequently put my 3 iron to rest.
Don’t have a 2 iron or comparative hybrid though…
Was reluctant at first to buy one but succumbed to the pressures of fellow golfers and am glad I did.

Topic: Golf Talk / the best golf tantrum you've seen?

This is a little embrassing but here goes….

Playing in stroke round a few weeks ago when I sliced my three wood off the tee OOB.
Reloaded and did exactly the same again.
Not having the best day as it was, i dropped said three wood and booted it away from the tee box…. over the boundary fence into a quite a large tree.
Had my comeuppance when I had to scale barbed wire fence to receive ‘offending’ club in front of group behind who had caught up.
Needless to say my temper has subsided somewhat and is now restricted to the occasional four letter word!

Funny game golf…..!

Sorry guys,
1/ It was individual stroke event (monthly medal),
2/ Because it was an individual event he was not my playing partner so I suppose he was a fellow competitor.
3/ Juniorgolfer …I play with anyone but no guarantees about any “assistance” you may receive from me! :)
