Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?

After a disappointing 29 points yesterday I came out on fire today with 4 birdies in the first 6 holes (to only be 2 under the card). Turned the front nine 1 under the card and then yesterdays form came back and went bogey, bogey, bogey, double. Finished with 5 straight pars to end +2 and drop to another all time low handicap….6.3.

After playing off 8/9 for about 5/6 yrs I picked up a club in our office (yes, we all practice our swings at work!), had a few swings and something just clicked that I wasn’t coming through the ball as much as I should. Since the light bulb turned on I’ve dropped from 8.2 to 6.3 in my last 4 rounds. Anything is possible with a bit of ability and a lot of practice. 6 isn’t a bad handicap for a guy who has never had a lesson :)

First game back after tearing tissue in my neck (ouch!). The break must have done me good as I shot 4 over (39 points with a wipe and three 3 putts!). I should sneak into 6 for the first time ever!!

ps. Missed an albatross by 1.5m but sank the eagle putt :)

Best score ever today…..2 over (42 points) which included 6 birdies and 2 doubles! I will now be into my lowest handicap ever – 6. something!!

11th hole at Yarrawonga (lakes course), holed a monster and paced it out….23 paces. (just got ya Dave :) )

I was able to sneak 3 games of golf in 7 days when I went to Noosa with the mrs. Played Tewantin, Hyatt Coolum and Twin Waters in that order. For the extra $50 or so you’ve got to play Hyatt Coolum!

Hi Admins,

Currently each week with the ISG tipping a link is provided to the world rankings. However as discovered at the bottom of the page here a new page is created for each week which can (and has) lead to incorrect squads being selected.

A suggestion for next year is to only have 1 world rankings page that is updated weekly.

If the Admins want to keep things inhouse that’s fine but they should have 1 page for the rankings that gets updated each week rather than the current week to week pages which (as we’ve found out) can lead to mistakes :)

Why not link direct to the official world rankings here before each tournament then there is no confusion of players current point value?

Maybe something for next year?

I too tried to contact Woodlands a few weeks ago enquiring about membership.

At first I sent an email and when I hadn’t heard anything back after a couple of weeks, I followed it up with a phone call only to be told that the membership officer was away that day and that she would return my call the following day. Never heard anything back from them which was pretty disappointing.

I was the same when looking at a course to join. As I only live 5 mins away from Woodlands I walked in the front door one day and asked to play a round because I was interested in joining. I got some lame arse excuse about the ‘membership’ person being away. Like you I never got a phone call back! :(

My mate’s ping g5 driver head cracked about 2 months back so he got the pro to send it back to ping. While waiting to hear back he bought himself a g10 driver (which he hits a mile!). Anyways, today he gets a call from the pro shop to say ping has sent a brand new g10 driver to replace the g5. Long story short, he’s offered me the replacement g10 for $280. We went to the range tonight and I hit it pure, all out of the guts and long! I’ve had a browse round the web for g10 prices and have prices ranging from $227 up to $499.

Is $280 a good price??
