Brought the Apache’s about 3 months ago, pretty happy although the midsize grips are a bit on the thick side.
Had to pay to get the irons extended 1” which was a bit disappointing considering I used their online custom fit.
Have 3 wedges 52, 56 & 60 and love them.
One complaint is that they never have any specials etc for “lefties”.

The freshly sign up and post about Lind seems to be a trend in all the forums i’ve been looking at.

Anyway, I did buy some blackhawk pros a few weeks ago. Got the TT Lite XL shafts put in them and upgraded the grips.

Only been out for one round with them. From what i noticed if i just did a nice easy smooth swing they were long and straight. As soon as i tried give it a bit more i started to spray them.

Need to test it out more.

Yeah to me the irons with an upgraded shaft still represent good value for money. The drivers with an upgraded shaft ends up something like $300 or more including delivery, which isnt so good in my opinion.

Still, i would definitely consider their irons, wedges and putters in the future (more likely just the wedges) and will likely soon buy the cart bag.

i bought some a month or so ago and am really impressed. I got the blackhawk irons for 280 with midsize grips for my big mits and an extra half an inch on the shafts. They were intended as a second set for visitors – but i have now ditched my calloway x-18’s in favour of them. I hit them further and straighter and the shape inspires more confidence.
i also got the hybrid 2 iron on offer for 70 bucks or so – stuck a golf pride midsize grip on it and it has become my banker off the tee. nothing wrong with the shaft in my eyes – ive taken my 200 buck taylor made burner hybrid out of the bag. customer service was great. they hadnt put the correct grips on so i emailed them one evening and the next day the bloke came to my door personally at 7 am – and had them back – regripped – the same day. Pretty amazing stuff.

Hi
Have not kept up with the talk of late. Anyway I have the Lind blackhawk pro irons, the apache 2 driver, a couple of hybrids and the mojo 3 wood and 5 wood. In my opinion for the money very good value. I bought the irons before the tt shaft change so I do not know how the new shaft feel. I have the 9.5 driver standard with lind graphite shaft (wish I knew something about graphite shafts and I may of changed) and when i am on the fairway regularly take out the longert drive in my weekend club game. So good my bro went out and got the blackhawk driver and he really smacks it too. Got a couple of others clubs but just has not got the feel yet and prefers to play with his existing clubs.
The down side for me was I ordered the grips on my irons one size up and they are way too big so I had to pay to get them changed to normal. The size was confirmed by my golfing buddies that standard were the norm. The sand wedge has not enough loft (see the difference between the irons and the regal).. The driver covers are not much either but again you are not spending a fortune.
I bought these as a replacement set as my others were way too old. After 8 months am down to 16 handicap. Am considering the apache pro irons as a second set for the family. If I won lotto I would probable buy Ping
Hope this helps and the boys from Lind have great after sales service.
P.S No i do not work for Lind but do like value for money

Souly

I dont think they are bad shafts but they feel so much heavier than my driver. To be honest I only noticed at the weekend after a trip to the range. I hit my driver for a while and themn got the hybrid out and it felt like a dead weight! They seem heavier then my irons as well!

I’m not rushing into it but its a consideration….what hybrids are you using?

walrus – i dont think id like a light hybrid shaft. its already so light compared to steel shafted irons

but i was talking about steel

the aerolites, as from the lind site, are above average and around as good as the DGs. the difference is something like a tolerance of 1g (plus/minus 2g as opposed to plus/minus 1g)

they are lighter and promote a mid ballflight, while dgs are heavier with a lower flight

the heaviness may be why the aerolites feel whippier MW

but not a cheapo shaft by any stretch

DGs are “better gear than standard”?

They ARE the standard, aren’t they?

what is wrong with the shafts in the irons mighty? true temper aerolites, good tolerances

seems fine to me

The rest of my set are stiff DG 400’s. I have noticed that even being TT and being stiff, my 52 wedge is a good deal whippier than the others. That may be a good thing, it may be a bad thing, I guess time will tell. It may also be me being a shaft snob.

Actually, to tell the truth, I don’t know how different my game would be with the TT aerolites compared to the DG 400’s. I presume very little. But with the DG’s I can say ‘I have DG’s in my irons, do you?’ As much as I would like to tell you different, I still like to think that I have ‘better’ gear than standard. At least I can feel confident on the tee box. The downside is when you get thrashed by some old bugger who takes a driver, 3 wood, 4 iron into a 450m par 5 and still cleans you up by 10 shots off the bat. Where does your ‘better’ gear get you then?

yep, upgraded shaft. what was the extra $$ you paid for the upgrade shaft shortstuff, if you don’t mind me asking.

Ha. I just threw out the invoice – was keeping it in case there was a problem. There isn’t. It’s great.

From memory, about $90 – Graphalloy Blue Regular. Don’t know if that’s good or bad :-) I just like the result.

BTW – superquick delivery. Ordered 3pm Wednesday, delivered to my door 7am Friday.

the logic behind the price change is there though. If you are buying all your components in US$ then of course it’s going to cost you more if you have to convert your AUS$ when you make an order. And if it costs more to buy the components, then you need to lift your prices to make the margins. And if price is what you differentiate your product with, then your margins are not that great that you can simply absorb the additional costs.

that being said, yes, i think the drivers were expensive before and are expensive now. And when you add decent shafts to your irons the price doesn’t look as seductive as it did on the ad banner.

exactly. whats a burner go for now? I’ve seen em as low 239 brand new at pro shops or golf world. and the stock lind (graphite)shafts are from what i’ve seen average at best. so slap on another 50-130 for a decent shaft.

and walrus dropping a clone driver by $10 hardly competing

Doc

The drivers went to $189 when the dollar was strong but only for about 2, maybe 4 weeks….and then back to $199. I guess they were trying to compete with 3balls and RBG at the time so I dont blame them to be honest….but $199 for a no name driver is still a bit rich!

i’m not really impressed that the price went up when the dollar went down. Drivers went up from about 189 to 199 i think yet irons sets 199 to 269?
