Topic: Golf Equipment / adams insight drivers Purchased the ADAMS BUL (9.5, Stiff flex) from Rockbottomgolf a few months back. Took a little getting used to, but very quickly learned to love it. I love Adams – very affordable, high quality and good looking clubs. |

After EVERY shot, idiots were competing with other idiots to see who the bigger idiots were: ‘GET IN DA HOLE’ ‘WOOO YEAH’ ‘YU DA MAN TIGER/PHIL’ Cmon idiots – how the hell is a ball going to get in the hole on the tee-shot on a par 4 let alone a par 5. |

Slow play is an issue…but impatient golfers are worse. 4 1/2 hours for a group of 3 or 4 should be fine. But some people think this a commute to the office, rather than golf, and seem to be in such a rush. We played as a group of 3 (in a new course for us) – and got to the end of the 9th hole in 2 hours. When we got off the green we heard the group behind us asked the marshall to give us a hurry up. When the marshall came up, we told him our tee off time. He looked at his watch and laughed. He said not to worry about it. However, we let them play through on the 10th, and then spent the rest of the game, playing right up their backsides! It was fabulous. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Good Hybrid Definately try out the Adams hybrids. I found them infinitately easier than any other hybrid I tried – including Taylormade Burner. No need for the 5 Woods – and just bought a 3 and 4 hybrid and have not looked back since. I use to dread hitting 3 and 4 irons. Now the 3 and 4 are my two favourite clubs in the bag. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Adams Golf- Insight BUL 5000 Driver I just received my driver ($99 US!) yesterday – less than 4 days after ordering – and they threw in a dozen free noodles as well. Not a bad deal. Postage was $30 all up. Once I get it out on the course – I’ll let you know how it went. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Adams Golf- Insight BUL 5000 Driver I’ve just ordered a 9.5, stiff flex BUL driver from Rockbottom. I got the A2 Hybrid irons set a month ago, along with the RPM 3-wood and love them to bits. I see no reason why this Driver so be any different. Adams make top clubs, without the top price. Those hybrids are so easy to hit, its almost illegal. I’ll let you know how it goes. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Eynesbury golf club Plenty of Flies, very strong winds and the horrific difficulty in finding your ball in the rough are the only downsides. Its a great course – beautifully maintained – but it sure aint easy. When that wind picks up, and you’re on your 6th ball or worse then you’ll probably wished you’d never even came to Eynesbury. Its a looong drive home after a bad round I can tell you. Everyone needs to try it though – and make up your own mind. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? Really nice course is WV – but you dont get rid of the major gripes with public/pay to play course – tee-times, hackers, general over crowding etc etc. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Question: Corporate Membership? Question for those in the know. If there were two or three guys who all worked for the same company, trying to join a club at the same time, is corporate membership an option? ie. Can you obtain corporate membership – which may entail 7 day rights, and other benefits – but you each pay the cost personally? You split the joining fees, and the annual costs etc. Has anyone done this, or know of this approach whereby it actually works out cheaper? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? Hally – the only thing with the introductory rights – is that I dont think you can play Sunday mornings (and saturdays are a no go full stop). Thats a real bummer for me. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? I’m considering Sanctuary Lakes to my list now. Anyone got a view on this club as a current/previous member? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? Thanks for your responses folks. Patterson Lakes is a little too far, as is Rossdale (but it was temptingly cheap). I think its coming down between Rosanna, Box Hill and Heidelberg to be honest. As its my frst private course – I dont want to be hit with a large joining fee, only to end up (a) not liking the course (b) graduating to a better one in a couple of years© members give me the shites (!) etc Are these courses any better or worse in winter, or under very wet conditions? I will be playing year round, bbut cant quite afford/justify a sand belt-type course just yet. Therefore I am interested in how bogged down, worn these ‘clay’ type courses get. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? I looked on Keysborough’s website – and it didnt mention a joining fee? Whats the deal with that…? Ignore that – I didnt see the stuff about the leasing arrangement. I think I might scratch them off the list. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne course options? Ok – any views on choosing from the below private courses: Heidelberg GC I’m aware of the others such as Southern, SV, Woodlands etc – but their joining fees are simply too steep (even if they can be spread over a few years). This would be my first private course – so any thoughts from people who’ve played some or all of these course would be great. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Online Shops I ordered a full set of Adams A2 Hybrid iron set, Adams RPM 3 Wood and a Adams/Tom Watson Lob all for $500 inclg delivery, from Rockbottomgolf. They are 100% real deal. I think thats a pretty good deal compared to what you pay retail in Australia. However, this is my first new set – not having fitting and all that just yet. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Which Hybrid to buy?
I ordered the full A2 Hybrid set – graphite shaft 3 and 4 Idea Hybrids, and 5-PW in normal steel shaft irons. Service was great – as in there was no dramas at all. Was ordered and then at my door within 4 days – all trackable online via fedex. Highly recommended. Adams make great clubs – they consistently get awarded on the hot list by golf digest. Not so famous for their Drivers – but great fairway woods, irons and of course their hybrids. No duties also. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Which Hybrid to buy? Mate….take it from me…you won’t do much better than the Adams As Hybrids. Cheap as chips from sites such as Rockbottomgolf. I just ordered the set, and took the hybrids out for the first time a few days ago. I was laughing on the practice map…seriously its like cheating. They are sooooo sweat. A buddy of mine bought an expensive Taylormade Burner…but cant hit the thing. Stick with Adams and you’ll do just fine. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Another Newby Mark W – like me, you no doubt just want to look that part. Therefore invest less in lessons, and more in the quality of your clothes, shoes, bag, and perhaps the clubs themselves. Dont forget to play expensive balls too – go Callaway or even Nike. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Ebay mizuno fakes or real What about Dinosaur Deals on ebay.com.au? They are flogging heaps of ‘100% authentic’ Mizzuno MX900s ‘brand new’. These things are selling for $400 or less each day. Anyone have a view/confirm they are legit? Dino sells heaps of stuff and have close to 100% rating. The only thing that concerns me is that everything is ‘private bidder’ which means they can be bidding it up themselves? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne Membership Help Woodlands looks great actually – but the joining fee is just too high, I cannot justify it. I would definately try and join it, as the course is so highly ranked versus the others. Do they waive joining fees or have specials from time to time? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Melbourne Membership Help Hi, I realise some posts may have already covered this off, but even now they may be out of date. I’m seeking advice on which golf club in the South/East area of Melbourne are the best to join, from a value for money perspective. I’m looking at fairly conservative costs – say around the $2k per annum, ideally with no joining fees. Courses that I’ve heard about but not yet payed on are Southern, Spring Valley, Keysborough and Ranfurlie. Love to hear from your experience which ones you like, or would avoid. If anyone is aware of the latest costs/fees – that’s great also. |
