Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Left Thumb Pressure Jack I have that much golf on at the moment ( down at Busselton this weekend ) that it is hard to fit all the games in. I have some mates that played at Araluen a few weeks ago and they enjoyed it. The TGM book is a book not to be rushed. It looks like a different language at first , but if you read it slowly and then read it again in the order it says to and keep going back to it and don’t try to understand it all in one go then you have a chance of getting somewhere. Once you understand how different parts of your swing are effected/changed by other movements, pressure points , set up fix and plane lines you can start to understand your swing better. Dart ,Guru and the other TGM teachers have to apply this to many different swings , all your have to do is apply it to your swing. By the sounds of all these post you are following this road anyway , maybe it will turn into a yellow book road . Cheers, Phil |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Left Thumb Pressure Hi Jack you must be a mind reader as Guru (Paul) e-mailed me a few days ago to see how things were going and I was telling him about what I had tried to put into practice from the TGM book. It was about pressure point #1 and how it is not just the left thumb pressue but the right hand pressue that sits on top as well. I to have notice a great improvement in the club face control on all clubs. As I said to Guru the light is getting brighter , good job as it has been dim for 20 years. Some things work better for hitters ( like what you have mentioned ) then swingers. Go the hitters and axe handle method ( or should that be system ). Cheers, Phil |

Topic: Golf Equipment / SMT Driver Advice BD+ is $155 US from the States which if it came out in july would have cost you $158 Aus but will cost you $254 now ( head only ). nearly 40% more in just 4 months. Still cheap compared to OEM lastest and greatest or should I have said longest and straightest ever. Yes there has been a long wait for this head but we are nearly at the go,go,go stage. Just in time for Christmas and summer. You can’t go wrong with good head and stiff shaft , always makes for a happy ending 8-). |

Topic: Golf Equipment / SMT Driver Advice Chuck have a look at the latest remax results in the USA. Phillis Metis a kiwi lass hit the new DB+ 349 yds. They are good quality golf components and when fitted by a good club fitter can really work wonders for your game. There are several great component manufactures of heads , shafts and grips a club fitter can work with to suit your swing. Do yourself a favour and find a good club fitter and test as many heads as possible not just one brand. Looking forward to my DB+ coming next month Good luck, Phil |

Topic: Golf Talk / Daylight Saving JonD with all the top rounds and being the club champion when are you turning Pro? Good to hear your golf is going in the direction you have worked for with TGM and Guru. How are you enjoying the social club? I was stopped from playing on Saturday at your old club , because I am only a trial member and don’t have 5 cards in yet. It was made very clear I am only a trial member and a second class member. Rules are rules. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / good high fps camera? Most of the Movies speeds on olympus camera’s is max 30fps. Any faster and the price just flys up. Most of the olympus FE range are set at 30 fps for movie (video). Sequential shooting of pictures is only 13.5 fps @ 3 megapixels using the olympus SP565uz. Like I said last week , you are looking for high speed video and this will cost more then the $500 you are willing to pay . Your mate can only get you 20% off Olympus cameras any way. Wait a few years and things will change. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / good high fps camera? 25 FPS in a digital camera is fast. you will be better off using a high speed video camera that you can pause , rewind and play at very slow speed. I work for a major camera manufacture and would think if you wait 5/6 years there will be plenty of high end digital cameras able to meet your needs. I have used high speed camera’s to watch machines operating at 35 operations a second and the pictures are clear as long as there is plenty of light on the item being video. cheers, Phil |

Topic: iseekgolf Golf Days / ISG Golf Competition I will try to make this game as well, Adam. Played Binningup a few times and enjoyed all games . Maybe a game in perth metro might get a few more players. If you keep the $ value to below $40 this would interest a few new players. Good on ya for trying to organise a ISG day in W.A. Cheers, Phil . |

I normal get wobbly knees when the wife is playing with me! I will take advice from “Franky goes to Hollywood” and relax on the first few holes. We live and learn , but still make the same mistakes. Topic: The Lounge / Feckin Weather Styles it was 23c and sunny all weekend in Perth and we have had no rain for a couple of weeks now. You must be getting our share of the rain. Guru might want to take a wet suit and flippers with him. This is one reason I have lived in Australia for the last ten years. But you do have the greenist grass in Ireland when it’s not under water. Keep washing the black velvet down and an eye for a break in the clouds. |
