Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? I will never forget the day I got to play with Tiger last year. It was inspiring, scary I guess you could say with the thought of it but it was not intimidating to me on the day, however I wish I had his ball flight as do many others. As I posted many many months ago, I learnt so much off Tiger just from having a casual chat between shots about life and not really golf. Tigers work ethic is second to none but he does take time off as he has to for other reasons. He does get sick of playing believe it or not and he does take time off. One only has to look at how many events he has played over the past 3 months to see that. He is unbelievable and most likely there will not be another person like him. So, what I am saying is…..it does not matter if you are off zero, 5, 10, 15, 20, 27, take your time, yes work hard but on correct technique and if you lose your swing as we all can at times, go back to the basics. Do not strive to be perfect in other peoples eyes, do it at your own pace. |

Too much golf is only bad when something goes wrong, and you start to tinker. I reckon that most golfers would be surprised with how their perception of their swing is not what their swing is at all… Get lessons! then practice the changes (starting to sound like a broken record aren’t I). |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? “The Dart”, I never mentioned running away. I am not Tiger and nor are you and nor is any person on this forum. (Well who knows, maybe he posts here on the odd occy when he takes a break?) All I was saying is that a break is as good as a holiday at times. I do not need a chance, had them, took them and made the most of them and still do to this day. I am already there “The Dart” and when I take a break, it is due to needing a rest from travel and golf indeed. I am sure you have been there before going over some of your posts. I will go for a week without hitting a ball just to have a break from it, sometimes 2 weeks. I do it by choice, works for me so why not your average golfer? It is all about preparing yourself, do not rush ever, think about what you have to do to get to where you want. No need to man up Dart. This game is about being smart at times. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? If that don’t work take two weeks then twelve months. Give me a break. Running away won’t do it. Face up and you have a chance. Man up Neumie. Can you imagine Tiger doing that. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? Take a break for a week. Too much golf can have a negative effect on your swing when something is not going right for you. It is a problem with so many amateur golfers. You want to get better, cannot get enough of the game but it can work against you at times. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? Swings get lost ‘cause we don’t watch them properly. Like not watching the road for a minute. You get a car wreck. In playing, the attention must be on the total motion feel, getting the ball into play any way you can; in practice on the alignments improving them for the next time. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? That is the question, how do we know the right practice? When I have played bad I have seen a pro for advice and also gone to the range to figure things out for myself. It takes me weeks to get back to playing well whereas if I have a break I tend to be more aware of the ball ( and not 100 swing thoughts) and I start playing consistent again. Very rarely do I have 3 bad rounds in a row, normally 2 bad ones on average. Would be good to know how everyone else fairs after a few bad rounds. Do you practice your way out of it with a pro, without a pro, work it out on the range yourself or take a break? Also how long on average does it take you to get back to playing consistent golf? |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? another thing to check is that your movement has not become restricted for some other reason, last year I had a sudden attack of swingus defectus that only cleared up after visiting a chiropractor (my Pro suggested it after a lesson) |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? I think we can all agree golf is a game that goes in cycles. We all have good runs and then have bad runs. Enjoy the good runs while they last as everything seems easy. Not sure there is one right way to break the bad runs, for me it is having a break for week or so and not touch a club. I have tried to practice my way out of it but find I end up tinkering too much and changing this and that , and in the long run it takes me longer to stop the “rutt”. Everyone is different though. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? Mate, spent my life playing sport so I don’t think that comment is relevant – maybe your swing is as good as you want it to be and all the pro needs to tell you is something like “move your left thumb onto the shaft”. For me, half hour lessons are “tip sessions” to fix little things. 1 hour gives my pro and me time to drill in what is required to make lasting changes – and to get me off the practice tee in a positive frame. Once my swing is where I want it and the pro and I are on the same wavelength, then shorter time together would be OK for minor stuff. |

Ahh, well that was for half an hour. I’de rather 2 1/2 hour lessons than a 1 hour lesson, but I am pretty sporty so I pick things up pretty quick. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? As my Golf Pro says, when things start going bad, and you start to tinker, things rarely get better again.. Go get a lesson, you will be surprised at how far off you can be from where you should be while still being able to play decent golf. I thought my swing was solid enough but last lesson we deflattened it and the results were nothing short of amazing. I strongly recommend a lesson, could be the best $35-60 odd you will ever spend. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? Gottastart…..... Welcome to the game of golf. My best mate is a shocking golfer and dreams of breaking 100. When he does have a par, it is a celebration and if he makes a putt for a birdie, he will not shut up for a week. He has the best cut shot and bunny fu_k or for and those who do not know, a topped shopped in the business. He is what you call a sensational chopper who loves the game but lacks talent and has no time to get better at the game. |

Topic: Forgotten my swing? Where can I find it? Only being playing about 3 months and was really happy with my improvement until on the weekend when for some unknown reason I could barely hit the ball, drives where left, right fat and thin, irons were fat and topped etc etc. |
