Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / How do I create spin when chipping?

Put the ball back in your stance and make sure your hands lead through impact.

Fellas, thanks 4 your replies…

I guess I will have to change my logo at the bottom of my posts but swinging it over 130mph is rather nice as long as it is in the fairway? Any idea what Bubba or JD swing it at? I am not after any more swing speed, happy with what I have ok.

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Croker Golf System

Hey, I am new here.. I am not a golf pro fellas but play off zip. Can I add my 30 cents?..Anyway..I have read all of the comments on this thread and to me, there is some good advice and well, not so good advice depending on ones interpretation of the golf swing. My advice is to have no fear on the course. If your have fear of a shot, do not play it and it is as simple as that.
An example…the other week, I was faced with a second shot over water to the green on a par 5 from only 200m. I had my 2 iron out but when I addressed the ball, I felt uncomfortbale. It was sitting down so what did I do? I took my 5 iron and hit a punch shot left of the water and had a pitch to the hole and made a birdie.
Grip/Alignment are important but so is tempo and the sh-t that goes on in your head. They can all be taught but what goes on in your head is up to oneself.

Blade,
I agree, golf is simple when you get to a certain level.

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / fireform Pure Envy

Stix.. I am not a golf professional ok. I work in a golf shop/resort in Indonesia and play off a scratch handicap. I am an Aussie ok and no, I am not hitting on you. Guru said to watch out for the boys on this site! Guru has given you some great advice and I will add some as well. I have never heard of “Fireform” clubs…..ever!!! If they are selling for $650, they most likely cost around $300 and are crap. If you know a guy who plays off a low handicap like 4 or less with knowledge of clubs or whatever, take your time. Do not go into a retail shop and let some tosser sell you a set that is for you as they say. You need graphite shafts, hybrid irons, a driver with a loft of 14 deg or more. It may cost you a few dollars more to get a “brand name” set but you get quality first and foremost.
Yes, I work in a golf shop but I do not sell clubs ok. Stuff that…

Topic: Golf Talk / Breathing to Manage the Meltdown

I wonder if Andrea Furst or whatever her name is, the author of this article has ever been 6 under with 2 to go on a golf course? I breathe air on the golf course and then a light up a smoke and drag on it when I am a few under to keep the thinking going. Golf is a “mental game” at times that only yourself can beat or rise to the situation on hand. Next time I am faced with a drive that I am uncomfortable with, I will take a few deep breaths of oxygen? No..I will take a 3 wood or 2 iron off the tee and use course management skills. As for me, when I am hitting a putt or a chip or any shot, I hold my breathe come to think of it. Sorry guys, golf quacks or university qualified people who have zap knowledge about golf annoy me. Opinions welcome.

Guys, Titty ProVX are the go ok. They go long, they spin, great flight and have great feel. The Callaway HX Tour are great as well. Yep, they may cost a few more dollars but they are so much better.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can - What spins more?

PGA PRO… very true mate. Being in control of your hands through impact with your wedge and ball position goes a long way. That little 30 yard pitch when you nip it perfect…you know it is going to rev. I also reckon, whats wrong with lobbing a 64 up in the air and landing it soft? Not having a go at you mate ok. Gotta love the soft lob with that club.

Topic: Golf Talk / How many single figure members does your club have?

At my course, there are about 100 members. The CCR is 73 (Par 72). Virtually every week, no person can play to the CCR except for the few low markers. We have 5 guys off 2, one of 1 and 2 off zip. I am off zip guys. The majority of the players are from 12-27 and then some. Our course is tough as it plays 6500m from the back tee’s, very large/fast undulating greens and the wind is always there. It is always very hot or humid! Never gets under 30 deg!

Topic: Golf Equipment / Swing Speed

Hi guys.. I swing it at 110mph with my driver. If the fairway is dead flat, no wind, I will hit it about 260m on average. I have read a post here that a person swings their driver at 137mph. Good luck to them i say! They should be on the long drive tour! If this is the case, what distance in metres does this equate to?
Cheers guys…

Good luck to AB. I find it amazing that he has won some $65 grand on the Troppo Pro-Am tour this year. That has to be a QLD OOM record surely?
