He’ll win plenty more.

Well done Rick!

Man

Not much by way of earnings since Moonah.

Great bloke I hope he can find it and make it.

Issue is whether his game is ready yet for the main tour?

Agree, new young blood required…

Baby Boomers will more than likely be the death to the game…like everything else they have touched!

Topic: Golf Talk / CEO Hallam to leave Golf Australia

pushed or left of his own accord?

Apparently had over 15+ years with his former employer before coming to GA.

I eventually got to like what he was trying to do and in my mind he made some excellent adjustments to an organisation that need change.

Too many critics, as well as some media, adopt such a negative perspective about golf administration and what they are trying to do

I hope this guy hangs around in some capacity, hate to be going backwards with some old stiff brought into the helm.

Blizard is not up there amongst the like of Stewart and others.

My bet is he will not even make the Eisenhower in October.

Why everyone rates him is beyond me….......

Scrivener would melt Blizard like an ice cube left in the desert.

Topic: Golf Talk / Moore Park, Pymble in Pennant Final

You reckon that Pymble doesn’t fork out a bit of $$$$$$$ to get the pennant team they want.

Pymble will get slaughted this weekend….......agree.

I thought all Pennant Players get is a free shirt, cap and a ball for their efforts; and a free lunch and piss after each match!

Who knows what Clubs fork out to their main players…but I doubt that all Moore Park gives, is “minor money for petrol”..

Welcome, sorry about the wet nose comment.

Yes the site does cover a lot of female golf, both amateur and professional.

I’m sure you will find it great.

Topic: Golf Talk / Which Course Gets the Better Of You

must say. I love Newcastle.

They have these “black tees” which are just awesome.

Need to be on your game there and it certainly is a course to play if you not done it.

I also find The Dunes gets me all the time, especially that F..king little 17th.

Where are all the real men.

Bet you Adam Scott does not follow through.

In the bedroom that is!

Mistress, welcome.

My reports are that Adam has trouble with his short stick and getting it close to the hole!

Topic: The Lounge / The Price for a Beer!

In Perth the normal for a pint of premium lager(heineken) is $8.30.
The more trendy pubs in the city are a fair bit more. Can’t comment on other beer prices, I only drink pints of heineken.:)
John

Dog shit….that’s expensive…is it the imported stuff or the crap made under “supervision” in WA?

The_Owl

As I’ve said before, gee you post some shit and this was posted in the middle of the day, thus probably explaining the crap that it is.

Tim Stewart….runners up at the British Am…
Rick Kulacz (now professional), winner of Scratch Players..

Scott Arnold, runners up at the St Andrew Links

Michael Foster…winner of the Rice Planters….

just some international victories/efforts by Aussies during 2007.

All are ‘guns’ and there’s more to come in 2008.

Get back up in your tree and do what you normally do in the dark….that’s the extent of your contribution.

you have to be spending too much time out in the sun.

Blizard is a gun player, worthy of that award!

Is the fact that he’s our top ranked amateur just a mistake?

Topic: Golf Talk / OneAsia Tour one step closer to reality

Bruce

excellent post…

highlights exactly their lack of appreciation as to what we have and can continue to achieve locally.

Was it a former Australian Labor Prime Minister that once said, “Asia is the place you fly over on the way to Europe”! How true.

Very short sighted response from our northern neibours, then again, one that we sould not be surprised to hear. It appears they only care about themselves.

So much for GA giving some Asian players a start at the Aust Open…waste of space that was.

Topic: Golf Talk / OneAsia Tour one step closer to reality

What….seriously..you guys think those in Asia give a shit about the Australian Tour…?

They do not give a flying “f”. It’s all blushy blushy and hanky panky with Asian tour officials, but do they really give a shit about what Australia has to offer?

We are better trying to retain links to the US and Europe and use those tours, like many of our guys have, as a pathway…

look at Moonah…top marks for the promotor and well done. It gave blokes like Porter another start.

Keep IMG out of it for a start as their track record in retaining events is terrible, but we can run events well in our own back yard without Asia.

I fail to see what Asia can give us..other than higher interest rates with their continual demand for our minerals…lot of good that’s done us in the eastern states, as the west enjoys boom times, and yobs over there spend like there’s no tomorrow, we in the east suffer with interest rate hits after hit.

Same disaster…there is argument we are better going alone and trying to keep links with the US and European Tours, not jump into bed with Asia

Topic: Golf Talk / Draper shoots 61 at Australian 4 Ball

You don’t find it newsworthy that he was a world class tennis player and is now coming good as a pro golfer?

When he wins an event other than a Von Nida tournament, then the transition from a world class tennis player to professional golfer is complete.

Draper seems to play on his fame as a tennis player to get media attention for his golf, that’s all.

I simply raise the issue as there are plenty of others with more talent and ability than Draper, who are overlooked by the media.

I recall Ivan Lendl gave it a crack…never made it. As for Draper, time will tell, but he’s certainly taking his time.

Topic: Golf Talk / Draper shoots 61 at Australian 4 Ball

Guys

I’m still out on Draper’s capacity to play top level professional golf.

Sure he’s talented, but there are plenty of others who fail to get the same level of exposure and attention that Draper achieves (yes even TV shows), yet are competing at a level far above him and are in a different class..eg. Leishman, Nitties, Aron Price, Bonholme, Porter, the list is endless.

I’m yet to rate Draper as a professional golfer, and fail to see why he should get any exposure, simply for a single round that he’s shot basically, out of his arse.

Yes a fine round granted, but so what, when Draper does similar to what Ewan Porter did at Moonah, then that will be news.

What a finish at Moonah.

Love that shot of his with his feet in the bunker and the ball above him!
