Topic: Golf Equipment / Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can - What spins more? How the flying f—k can you get spin from the rough or a really bad lie from the rough? It does not matter if you have a wedge with grooves on it desinged by NASA? If any person on this site can spin a wedge from long rough, say a 60 deg, let me know. From the rough, the ball and clubface has grass between it? Yes, one can hit a cut up and hit the ball high to land it soft but no spin? |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf is simple Yes, there is a point…No matter how good you may play, one always wants to get better and that round that may be only 2 shots better. Your best round may be 85, you have a 79 the next week and think, gosh, that feels great, maybe I can have a 77 next time? Golf is simple my friend, enjoy the bloody game, take the good times and if you have a bad round, who really gives a flying f—k? Deep down inside, one may feel like crap after a round that was shat… That happens in golf. Golf is simple, but it is difficult at times as well. It is the person using the club that makes the game “un-simple” if I can say it like that. It is like, I could have the best fishing equipment and catch jack all but the guy next to me knows how to catch fish using a $19.99 fishing rod from Amart and can feed the family? |

Topic: The Lounge / YOU best and worst pick up lines I love playing guitar, got up on stage with the local band in the bar I was getting pissed in (Thailand) and sang a song for a girl in the crowd. She became my caddy, and we are married now! There were zap pickup lines, she thought I was a tourist who could sing and play guitar. When I said I was a golfer, she had no idea what that was. I told her that I play golf for a job and if I play well, I make some cash. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Why Golf is Now SO EXPENSIVE! Hmmm..imagine playing on some professional golf tour (around the world) with all that money on offer to win? Your 1, 2, 3 grand (annual) membership of a club is like 1/2 weeks on a professional tour (overseas) in expenses. This includes food, hotels, airfares, entry fee’s and the like and that is doing it tough. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Putting technique On fast greens a lighter putter can help and on slow greens a heavier putter can help. No matter what, keeping both of your hands working in unision with eachother is what one should strive for. Putting is like chipping to me from say 20 feet. If you practice doing this with your eyes closed, you will “feel” your stroke. Always aim for a target just past the hole unless you have a shot downhill on a green made from glass. Your eyes directly over the ball always helps at address. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Vokey Spin Milled Oil Can - What spins more? My trusty Vokey BV 256 from the “stoneage” still spins as much as any current wedge out there that I have tried. Technique plays a major part as we all know. |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf is simple Ok boys, I will add some more here. Take a practice swing or 2 before your shot. You have no fear right? Address the ball and then certain demons start to go through the mind…the water down the left, OB or whatever. When the ball is teed up, how more perfect a lie can one get? When your ball sits in a divot and you are 150 out, what goes on in the mind? Damn, I am gonna have a bogie here and I should be having a par on this hole. The best advice I have ever got was to play to your strengths and play withing yourself. If you have a weakness, that is what you spend more time on. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Pro V1 v Pro V Adam Scott uses the ProV1x…... Perhaps if we can ask him why he uses it, we may all know why? Surely he only uses it because he is paid to use it or is it his ball of choice? Beats me! |

Topic: Golf Talk / Golf is simple Yeah, I am new to this site but golf is simple ok! You have a ball, that is the fairway hit it down the fairway, on the green and do not stuff your mind up with all those swing thoughts from the latest golf magazine, stuffing around in your local golf shop searching for that driver that gives you 10m more so you are told!!! Just hit the ball guys with a nice smooth swing. Enjoy the game for what it is. Anyway, the buffer is here…. |

Topic: Golf Equipment / Nike One Black The ball is “harder” than its partner in the silver box and does go further. It has less spin though (around the greens). Sort of like the Pro V1x compared to the Pro V1 in a way or the Cally HX Tour to the 56. |
