Topic: The Lounge / Where to live in the Wollongong area

thanks forvthe input, much appreciated. Moving down very very soon.

Woonona, Corrimal, Flinders, Shell Cove, Shell Harbour, Cordeux Heights and Albion Park are still on the list.

Kiama, sounds great, bit too much in the dollars department for me though.

Love in the info, keep it coming.

thanks all David

Topic: The Lounge / Where to live in the Wollongong area

Hey all, well my plans have changed again for work. I am getting transferred to Wollongong. Not an area I know too well. Looking to get a newer house, around $450,000. Any areas you recommend to live or avoid??

Small kids, so schools are important, and within 30 mins drive of the gong.

Thinking Albion Park maybe??

thanks for any tips

Help me avoid the bogans!!!!!!!!

Have pulled the trigger on a set of the blades today, went for the standard length as the price is just too good, have only played standard in the past so don’t know any different.

Paid the extra for Express post, so maybe, just maybe might get them in time for a hit on the weekend. A bit nervous about hitting the longer irons, but looking forward to the challenge.

Good stuff!!!

Mate my favourite club is now my 4 iron since getting my snipers

keep us updated with your results!!!!

Good stuff Truesalt. Can’t wait to see what happens when you actually get used to them. A 7 shot drop in one round is pretty good, hopefully it will continue that way for you.

Don’t forget to stick this in the ‘How long did it take you to break 100’ thread.

Thanks and Done!!

Hope to get out again in the next week to find a few more shots!!

Thanks!

dew then very dry greens, so 4 or 5 putts as I got used to the conditions

plus maybe 5 really dumb shots so I know where I can improve greatly
plus a couple of bounces where it could have really gone either way

oh well, room for improvement, but I am stoked!!

Today was my day.

Played a bit as kid, then nothing for 20 old years

Have been playing once a week or so for the last few months.
Had a handicap of 27 for a few weeks.

Best score was 106

Then got my Lind Snipers last week

Today I shot 99 woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a very happy chappy.

95 here I come!

Alrighty then,

just had 18 with my new snipers, plus 2 ball putter. My previous best 18 was 106. Just got a 99, and even that was higher than it should have been. First 9 was 46 then 53 for the second.

A few less ‘stupid’ shots, and a llow 90s was on the cards.

My usual playing partner could not believe my improvement. Said i was no longer ‘swinging madly ’ at the ball.

the chunky feel of the snipers seems to make me feel less inclined to ‘have a crack’ at a ball and just take a nice easy swing. Instant results

one happy chappy

I found my confidence sky high before even hitting the first ball. Looking down at the nice new shiny clubs, I just felt that with a nice easy swing the ball would just fly, and sure enough it did.

Check the lind site, as I believe the only difference between the sniper and the sniper pro is the pro is lighter, so this may well suit you from what you have said

comp on Sunday, so I’ll report how I go

thanks

Hey Brett0509

I ordered the snipers. For some reason the pros just didn’t work for me. I am still on a high for how well I played today. Had a number of 3 and 4 iron second shots end up on the green. swweeet!! As I said the snipers just felt nice and meaty, where as the sniper pros are lighter. They just felt right for me

Topic: Golf Equipment / Lind Golf

G’day all, a review of my Linds that arrived today.

Firstly to set the scene. I am 38 years old 6’5” 105kgs, all arms and legs.
Bought a Brosnan set about 5 years ago. Played a few times then left them in the garage. Got into it again about 6 months ago. So far I have 2 lessons.

I joined the local club and have played 4 comp rounds 106 -109 have been my range of scores. I was given a handicap of 27

Whilst in Sydney a few weeks ago I popped into Moore Park and met Brad and the team. Hit a lot of balls with all the irons and decided I liked the Snipers the best. Also the 2ball sniper putter.

Ordered 3-pw sw sniper 2 ball putter last week. All +1” and jumbo grips

The clubs arrived this morning, after being kept up to date via email. An important thing when ordering online!!

Clubs arrived well packed and when opened looked great.

I have always had trouble (like many) with 3 and 4 irons so was keen to get on the course.

Only had time for 9 holes, and my previous best ever was 53 for 9. Well today I scored 48, without ANY practice with the new clubs. Just got out there, and WOW what a difference. Every one of my 3 and 4 iron shots came flying off straight as. Had a huge smile during most if the round. Had a couple of 3 putts during the first few holes, remember I had no practice with the putter either. By hole 5 I was knoocking in a couple of 10 foot putts! Felt great.

Love the meaty feel of the clubs, and the jumbo grips help a huge amount. i know my handicap will come down from the current 27 to 20 within a few weeks at this rate, and then less from there.

I cannot recommend using Lind enough. the service has been great, the clubs look, feel and play awesome. If your a tall skinny mug like me who wants to improve there mediocre game then this may well be for you

thanks to Brad and the team

ah bugger, the wife just worked out that I bought new clubs. uhoh

Boz,

I’m using the older UV yellow and love them, but unfortunately, so do the crows. I can’t wait to try the new ones once they come out. I have lost 8 balls in the last three games! I’ve stopped using them for now because of the crows…….maybe I need to buy some white ones.

The solution is easy.
Buy one of those ‘exploding’ prank balls. Paint it bright yellow. Set a trap, kaboom, no more crows!!! it should only take one to be an example!

just don’t tell the rspca…....

Now that would be great.

Still remember seeing Man U playing Bristol City in about 1977. I was with my Dad( seeing as I was 8!). Was a 1-1 draw, and we were behind the goals. Poured down the whole game, standing there with my big green coat on, pockets full of rain water, with a smile bigger than the harbour bridge!!

Hey all, well I was in Sydney last week for business and managed to get to the demo night at Moore Park. Met the gang and had a large number of hits with quite a few clubs.

After trying all the irons I ended up liking the snipers the most. These just worked for me.
Ordered some online today, extra length with the jumbo grips. Got myself a sniper double putter as well.

Will go for a game once they arrive and give a full report

thanks to Brad and the team

oh and I hope to improve on my 27 handicap (which I only got last week) using my old Brosnans pretty soon!!

Hi all, just wanted to keep this thread alive.
I am seriously looking at getting some of these irons and a putter. Some more feeback from those who have purchased would be greatly appreciated. Might actually be in Sydney for one of the demo days, so as it gets closer (9th April night) I shall make a booking if it is confirmed that I will be able to get there

Topic: Golf Equipment / Fantom Ball Test - 2008 Oz

G’day Boz.

Tried the Power Distance ball today. Firstly a name change. How about superdupermegafriggin distance and by christ it bounces ball??

Tell ya what this ball came flying off the driver. What was a big surprise was the HUUGEE bounce and therefore extra distance. It actually got me into trouble a couple of times as it bounces further than expected, into the bloody rough of course!!.

Thee first ball lasted half the round til lost, but that was the only one. A record for me. Both balls had a nice clean run, for once no trees.

Wear wise, the ‘distance’ word was worn, and the ball received more than usual green ‘staining’. Saying that though I have only been using the yellow peril recently so maybe I have forgotten how white balls stain??

Loved em, and will try the others next game

enjoy and thanks again for the opportunity to try these great balls.

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Reduced swing - longer distance!

thanks for the input gents.

Burner – I bought the driver a few months ago, and during my 2 hours in the store and trying numerous clubs, the chap working there suggested the stiff shaft based on my normal swing speed.

Matt42s – mmmm I ain’t no expert that is for sure!!! I THINK I am rotating as per normal just to a lesser extent, so hope that I am not messing up my timing etc.

Hope to have a lesson again next week, so will have the pro check it out and help or slap me!!!

thanks again to all

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Reduced swing - longer distance!

Hey all,

I am a bit of a hacker, still working on getting my handicap.

Using my stiff flex Cobra driver, with a full backswing I was getting 230m, rarely straight.
After a bit (lot) of frustration I decided to experiment and have reduced my back swing. Now i only go so my swing starts with the club vertical, and I have hit every ball since straight and 270m!!!

Wtf is going on? Should I just continue to increase the backswing bit by bit as my skill/control improves?

Oh and VERY HAPPY to have a 270m drive
.I am 6’6” hence the stiff shaft

My gear arrive today. Thanks so much Boz

Presentation of balls and tees excellent.
Hopefully up for a hit on Sunday and will post results

The more ‘regular’ appearance of the balls may appeal to those who prefer the traditional look of a ball compared to the yellow peril. Neat and smart

thanks again

Had a super miss it the other with the yellow peril. Hit a hard sharp pathway and caused surprisingly litle damage to the ball, but a great deal to my ego
