Topic: Golf Talk / Croydon Golf Club

i worked there building the club house. course looks pretty good. for what i could see. nice lines of play. good looking greens. some water hazards.
theres a big problem though.
fog!!! BIGTIME FOG!
everyday i worked there the fog or mist wouldnt lift untill after 10am.
and it was thick shit too. theres no way you’d see your ball in it. and even some days when i was eating lunch (1130) it was still there.
im not sure if it was just the time of year(coming into winter) or because the place is situated in a valley its always there.
but the clubhouse is huge and the course does look good. theres gonna be 2 courses i think.

Hi there tony, i was interested to see what you thought of the new norman track settlers run. Its still a bit fresh but what do you think of the layout/design.

Topic: Golf Talk / masters at capital

wouldnt it be great to see the masters moved to capital golf club. its so exclusive i think theres only like 2 members. but how great would it be to have the chance just to walk a course like that, following your favourite player. i know someone who’s played it, who has also played some of the great courses in the world and he says this tops them all.

Topic: ISG Feedback / course reviews

this is too the editor of this website. Im a fan of detailed course reviews with pictures and so fourth. but there hasnt been one posted since january. it would be great to see one put up once a month or so. so many new courses around the country, it’d be great to read something that gives me an idea for my next golfing day/holiday.

Hey cams. look settlers still has a little bit of growing in but i think itll become one of melbournes great courses. theres only one hole im not fond of and thats the first, its too hard for a first hole. but its a beautiful course.

I walked huntingdale yeaterday at the masters. What a fantastic layout and beautiful course. I thought to myself that i would love to get a round there. If anyones a member, Im offering a round at settlers run in cranbourne for a round at huntingdale.

Topic: Golf Talk / settlers run

i played settlers for the first time yesterday and its fantastic. has got some of the strogest holes ive played, with some really enjoyable holes too. St Andrews is nice, i played it a month ago. But they dont even have a club house and there not going to start building for 2-3 years. But i might sound one sided when i say this, but think settlers is a better course than st andrews beach. the greens norman has designed are genuine melbourne sandbelt greens. they are awesome to look at. Oh yeh and cranbourne is a fantastic course especially the back 9, and that is a good deal, but anyone can play that weekdays for 40 bucks i think.
And spring valley is boring.

yeah its a share and can be sold like the national after 3 years. ive only driven around it in a cart as they were still working on some of the fairways putting drains in. but i think the course has the potential to make top ten in australia. its suprisingly undulating/hilly for cranbourne.

Topic: Golf Talk / settlers run

On monday i took a tour of settlers run golf course in cranbourne. I loved the place and im thinking of joining. I thought the design was better than normans moonah course at the national.(but im not a golf design expert). Would anyone have any resons into why NOT to join. It would be the first time ive joined a club.
