Hey SoulmanZ,

I too love a good spreadsheet. HAve all my household budgets on one, plus holidays, etc. And even use them for work!

Saw a guy and gal leaving the 18th about 7 last night (I was on the range waiting for the A380 to fly over!) Was that you?

Soulman. Two years in a row I did the player ot the year data on Excel. Approx 150 players. recording every single stroke & single stableford score between opening day & closing day. Thats a lopt of data. But was fairly simple with a spreadsheet program. Still use spreadsheets for several purposes. they just make the work so easy.

The main thing that matters to me is that finally I didn’t go out…now I have to start bringing it in.

That could be the reason I don’t play public courses SM and I get excited by a good spreadsheet as well.

Could be that you are just trying too hard. Know this is easy to say but, Try to relax & enjoy the game. The right frame of mind is important for playing well.

Well, the excel database is finished, and boy is it a behemoth. For the 3 months trial im into AC in columns i think! What a monster! Some of the calculation work was inspired!

Am i the only one who is excited by spreadsheets?

Now to just fill it with data, come on you slowpokes who havent played your rounds, only 24 days left!

ps after my great round yesterday i wasnt hitting too well today, although i was trying out the new UVs, with mixed results. i do blame the groups in front of me though. A woman with 2 kids under 5 (who were playing, ie digging up the fairway) didnt offer for us to play through on several holes, so we skipped 2 holes to get past a few groups. Then i pulled a 7 iron on the 16th to the tees of the 17th, yelled fore and did everything right. The group in front (2 asian guys and a kid) werent perturbed, just went to hit their drives…..

then as im walking up, i stopped to watch my girlfriend’s shot. one of the guys must have taken this as a cue that i didnt want to play out the hole (!) and picked my ball up and threw it to me!!!!!

i was about 20m away

i just dont get it. and one of the guys was teaching the other one, so surely he knew something of how to play golf?

bah, anyway, looking forward to more results. good work franky

Thanks for the info MS. I do understand that . was more taking the opportunity for a cheap shot at Franky. It just struck me as amusing the way it is posted on golflink.
Actually our ACR is 70 off the whites & 72 off the blues. If you don,t shoot 40 stableford points you don,t get cut.

Pom, yeah and no. Par doesn’t change but weather and tee positions do. The “effective” par is altered for easier and more difficult conditions

I can see your point guys as far as Golflink goes. In reality If you score 36 points you have played to your handicap. ( not the ccr)

Mate , the missus loved it too.

Pom, CCR was 2 under the Par, Franky would have needed 38pts to play to his handicap

Franky, Any round with 2 birdies’ off your handicap has to be good. Just out of curiosity, most of my wipes tend to be 1 shot too many. curious to hear how other players fair & off what handicaps
Obviously if you don,t putt out you can,t be totally accurate but most guys have a fair idea what they would have finished with

P_S Franky curious again, according to Golflink, You had 36 points but played off a handicap of 30 & to a handicap of 32. not quite sure how that works out.

BTW I loved Daisy:-)))

Nope as long as you manage 2 rounds before the end of the year, they will count.

i’m a late yes on the change

Yeah me too, although I will probably only be lucky to get 2 maybe 3 rounds in anyway. Does it matter if I don’t get a round in for Sept/Oct, then play 2 in Nov and maybe 1 inDec ???

Gee I leave the thread for a few days and look what happens. We get more rounds, yay!! If you don’t have enough votes to confirm it yet. I am a yes to that.
Very glad I didn’t nominate my round on the weekend a pitiful 19 points, more wipes than Sorbent and was reading the greens like Stevie Wonder One positive from the whole shambes was that I smacked a 4 iron 240 metres. Yes it was down hill but I have to cling to something.

no probs, you still only HAVE to play 2 rounds over the year (and you have already played one)

but remember you can nominate social rounds too, they dont have to be comp rounds

Yeah, but I’m starting my next clinic this Friday for 8 weeks, so that in turn may mean less comp golf!

I’ll vote yes as long as someone re-explains the rules to me again! It’s this daylight savings thing, I missed an hour somewhere and I don’t know where I am anymore!

yep, every month will have a single best round and average category. the average category will only be open to those who play 2 rounds (so gribs cant get in by not playing again!)
