Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / keeping scone behind the ball... Hi Guys. Sorry for the delay in posting back. Not sure of any valid research on the issue to which I can direct you, Burner. From my internet research, several sources recommend pre-turning the chin to the right if you are left eye dominated. One person I communicated with said: “If you are left eye dominant and swing right handed you can and should swivel your chin right and have your left eye set properly to view the ball. You can keep the chin back as you swing down and through which I would not recommend to a right eye dominant swinger. The benefit is that you can easily make a longer “in balance” backswing while still maintaining a better glance at the ball than a right eye dominant player can. On the downswing, however, the story is different because the right shoulder,if your head is tipped down on the correct angle, will slam that chin left or have to move under as you move through and you are also susseptible to a an upper body sway as you try to keep the ball in focus. remmeber that the ball is not going anywhere and that the head must release at some point. You will probably have difficulty seeing impact. Don’t worry about it. The ball will be where it was a millisecond ago. You will have to experiment with this and figure out how you want to manage this. You have to decide how and when the head moves through and out of the shot.” Not sure I understand what he is talking about regarding the downswing, but I can tell you that for me personally, as a left eye dominated right handed swinger, once I started pre-turning my chin to the right it made it much easier for me to maintain a proper spine tilt and a proper shoulder turn during the back swing. My ball striking immediately improved. I’d love for Jeff Mann to chime in on this, because I would bet he has looked into the dominant eye issue and effect on the swing. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / three zones Dart- Not positive, but I think Brownman was suggesting that the administrator reorganize future threads so that questions about the Body would be in a zone 1 thread; questions about arms in a zone2 thread; and questions about hands/direction in a zone 3 thread. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / keeping scone behind the ball... Cliff- Let me take a wild guess, are you left eye dominated, swinging the club right handed? If so, there will be a natural tendency for the upper body and head to sway forward in the swing for you. Left eye dominated individuals swinging righty have an advantage taking the club back, but often have difficulty seeing the ball at impact. Left eye dominated individuals swing right handed often have to work their head different than right handed right eye dominated individuals (think of Jack N., who was left eye dominated, pre-turning his chin to the right). If you are not left eye dominated, then ignore my post! :o) |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Stack & Tilt Thanks, Dart. I’m getting there. I am still working on my plane a bit, though. I think that I’m bringing the club back too far to the inside (I start on the elbow plane, and don’t get back to the elbow plane until about 3/4 up). Not sure if you can see it on the youtube video. Would you suggest trying to get the plane more upright? |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Stack & Tilt Dart- Never heard of the “pump drill” before. Will definitely give it a whirl and report back. Is Rebjon correct when he says I was coming OTT? Every time I have been on a golf simulator it has reported an inside out swing path. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Stack & Tilt Still plugging away…..I think my pivot has definitely improved, but the body still seems to be running away from me. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Any suggestions? Also, I think I am taking the club too far to the inside, can someone take a look at the down the line view and let me know what they think. Thanks. |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Stack & Tilt Dart- I would never want you to hold back. The goal is to improve, not to get false praises! One good day the range, with an inconsistent pattern, will never get it done long term. Keep firing away, my friend! |

Topic: Ask Golf Guru - Golf Instruction / Stack & Tilt Updated video attached below: This is definitely not stack and tilt, but I figure I should keep posting mys wing in the same thread. I am letting my weight go right during the early stages of the backswing, but still feel as though I am getting left before starting the downswing. http://www.youtube.com/watc... Bio, Dart, Guru and the gang, if you could take a look and compare it to the last one that Bio said was good on page 5 of the thread I’d appreciate it. I think I am continuing to improve on my pattern, but want to make sure that you agree, and that this little tweak is a good change. I think I need to widen my stance a tad bit. Thanks again for everyone’s help and support. |
