Topic: Stack & Tilt Hi all, just in case anyone of you cannot find a professional teaching the stack and tilt method (just like I could not), may be you want to try the original DVD series by Bennett and Plummer: http://www.phil-mickelson.com/2008/stack-and-tilt-the-ultimate-cure-for-our-swing-problems/ I found it quite helpful even though I am still struggling with my long irons and driver. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt ColtsFan, That is the way to learn but make sure your imperatives stay in. You might think one works better but the fact is that some other fault made one look bad. You really can’t test different loading systems until you are certain you know what a Flat Left Wrist and a Straight Plane Line are, then you can decide which of the three Loading systems keeps the motion smoothest and strongest for you. This is a sophisticated level of operation. There is a lot of precision required before you see what you are doing. Enjoy the trip. This is the most rewarding work. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt I have to do both otherwise big low lefts with the driver and woods sometime my hybrid if i use the S&T. Otherwise I have to put the ball further back in my stance to start it right which causes other problems. Much prefer to use a swingers action off the tee (gives me more distance as well) and S&T with my irons which i feel it more accurate for me anyway. As for wedges yes they go like a punch if you use S&T much lower than a normal swing but i find its much easier to get the ball to spin up. If you need a higher shot so you will be using more loft and verticle hinges. Try both and you will learn heaps about the golf swing. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt Dart, I have the S&T video but I see no parameters for P&B’s pattern w/ regards to pitch or punch elbow? Dahlquist says pitch for most shots, while Evans says punch for all. In you experience is the hitting version w/ angled hinging and a punch elbow the better way to go? Dahlquist says that is why you see people having trouble w/ the driver and longer clubs, DD says those swings should be more of a CF action (pitch elbow w/ down the line release, where as 7-PW is ideal for punch elbow and “swing left” release. Thanks |

Topic: Stack & Tilt Yeah – I can be vague that time of night. Start from release point, use a big forward press. I would be pleased to explain more if you like but sometimes a simple answer is clearer. |

Finster, I can see a big difference and I would like to see a bit more. A one piece drill will help more now. Start half way back – bounce every thing towards the ball about 15 cms – back and strike. I can see a perfect rhythm this time around. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt What I have interpreted from the S &T articles – keep the spine perpendicular – works so well for me. It makes a lot of sense in theory, and it works in practice. Good on these guys for having the guts to come up with S&T, publish it, then to go out and recruit 20 or so touring players. |

Finster, In front for swingers behind for hitters. But good lag loading and rhythm will cure anything or at least get it growing in the right direction. |

You are still coming from the inside but you are over the top of your initial backswing plane. A better option which is more common is to use the same plane for backswing and down swing especially with S&T no plane shift or use a more upright plane on the back swing and a flatter plane on the downswing. http://www.visiongolf.com/video.htm http://www.visiongolf.com/ Get your setup alignments right with a strong pivot and the plane will take care of its self. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt Finster, I like all that apart from the lag loading. Pump Drill No. 3 -1,2,3,4: move the club to the top and down 1mtr. back to the top then down 2mtrs and back to the top and so on till you reach 4. This all makes the club feel very heavy. The heavy work makes the body coordinate in a cohesive manner – like catching a bag of cement – there is only one way to stand. When you work the club that hard there is only one rhythm that works. Hogan’s drill will help but more with the hand motion. He said,” put your arms down between your legs and start moving your legs”. He then began swinging 1,2,3 and 4 metres back and forth with one almighty powerful swing at full length then slowed and shortened down where he came from. See what you learn from those drills and report back. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt You look like you are coming over the top. You start your swing on a low plane good for S&T but your hands on the downswing come out and away from the body. Your hands need to just drop down towards the ball not out towards the ball. Swing track would help ? You are also squatting on your setup, keep your back bent at the same angle but your legs need to be straighter with less flex. See how you are knock kneed. This will contribute to the OTT move and your head dipping ect. Get your setup right and the rest will come. Its looking better than before. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt Finster, You tell me. Should the swing look like one rhythmical movement or a two piece effort. Should I see legs and arms working like a crank shaft and connecting rod or machine gun fire. Should the legs start first then stop, the swing cut in and pulls the pivot through. Or should everything start and stop together. |

Topic: Stack & Tilt Finster, Unless the right forearm is delivered on or under the plane of the shaft the power package will not release. Get a really good idea of where your ulna and radius bones have to be before they can fire. You see your mind will not let you go ahead if you are wrong. You only have to pick the right slot once to appreciate the freedom it gives the shot. When it happens – don;t miss it, dive all over it never let it go. You have struck pay dirt. It is called the magic of the right forearm. S&T presumes, maybe foolishly, that you know your alignments. |
