Topic: Fascinating scenario to end FedEx Cup I think the Tiger / Lefty withdrawals are a bit of ego driven posturing, trying to make a point that they are bigger than the tour. It will be interesting to see if Lefty finishes second by a narrow margin whether he still thinks an extra weekend with the family was worth 10 mil. Then again, these guys have far more money than they could ever spend sensibly… |

Topic: Fascinating scenario to end FedEx Cup Yes, one final tournament or perhaps two. One would be a stroke play event where say the top 120 or so would play an early week round whereby the top 70 would advance to the next round. Then there would be three more rounds where the field would be reduced every day and start over fresh each day. The final day would have say 16 golfers fighting it out for the cup. Or maybe the final 16 would go on for another tournament which would be match play fighting it out for the cup. Let’s face it, the current set up was done to get Tiger to play more tournaments and generate more Television revenue. If Tiger is uninterested, this thing will fail as it already has done partially. Tiger could care less about the prize money. Let’s make it an intriguing, competitive final event or two. |

Topic: scoring par I assume you mean a par event? Yes, if you have already used up your allocated shots (most holes you would get two), once you are going to get a minus, pick it up and speed up play for the rest of the group and the rest of the players behind you |
