have had bugger problems with the apparent ‘so-so’ club construction. and even the ones i’ve had have been piss weak little things. last one was i had back was that the backing plate in an X-12 had come loose. araldite to the rescue.

had WAY more stuff back from the likes of Acushnet and Mizuno. Both of which had problems with their carbon top stuff. Not a single problem yet with Callaway’s carbon body drivers.

not trying to be rude, but you kinda sound like me before we were given a callaway account. i was pretty bitter towards them at that stage too

To be honest – not sure I would even wnat a Callaway account if it was offered. Can’t see myself wanting to keep a minimum of $30K on the floor when they change their stock so often.

sms316, here is a tip. If you would just change the tone of your posts so that people would find them less offensive, I am sure they will take you more seriously. There is no need for such anger here…we are one happy family.

All I was trying to say is that ebay is a dangerous place to shop (and yes I have bought things on there). Like all things in life you get what you pay for. On ebay you are not getting any warrantys or guarantees. That is why it is so cheap. Sure, there are bargains to be had, but don’t come whinging when you buy a rip off.

I’ve seen a fake Newport, and it looked pretty real. All it had different was the milling on the face (and about 10 degrees of loft).

Statements like that are really constructive! You are sounding very much like another, perhaps you are also Chachi??? Or you have come out of the same 2 inch mould. Either way go back to your ‘golf manager’ job whatever that is or try very hard, against your nature I know, to put your point across like and adult.

Callaway is the most over-hyped brand on the market by far. Titleist, Taylor Made, Cleveland & Mizuno are much better gear.

Unless you like mass-produced shite that will be out-dated within 6 months (which Callaway have always done and always will). Good at marketing – so so with club construction.

Somehow I doubt Chachi will be thrilled with the comparison.

You might find this suprising;

If somebody comes in asking if a club will help them I will generally tell them to go and have a lesson with the pro. if they still wan’t the club I will give them the price of the lesson off the club.

Most people don’t actually ask that question though – they just say “can I order XXXX”, without asking for advise. I feel no sorrow for these people when they buy something like that and don’t ask half-normal questions.

360’s are fine as long as they fit perfectly. They are really rigid around the middle of your foot so they will never mould themselves.

Unless they fit perfectly – don’t go there.

These might be words that you don’t want to hear, and I will probably get howled down for saying this, but here goes (and I’m only talking about green grass here);

Unless you play off 4 or less – forget it. Nobody will ask for advise on what type of ball/club/shaft etc to use from a guy who shoots 90. Unless you get to senior management you will hardly ever get to play in a club competition again. Simple reason – when people want to play the most, the shop needs to be staffed the heaviest.

Yes you might get a free or reduced price membership as a perk, but you will hardly get to use it.

The pay is far from special unless you get to senior management, and I hope that you like working weekends.
