Topic: Golf Talk / ISG Golf Competition My stroke round converted to Stableford is as follows- Doesn’t look that great but it’s the best round I’ve had for some time in tough conditions and I won the day so I’m happy. Plus I got 2 NTP’s and best 2nd shot for A Grade. |

It’s taken ages to read 22 pages of posts :) Nominate my first round as this Tues 28/10 Stroke but I’ll convert it to Stableford. Name: Lynda |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Played in the South West Ladies District Singles Championship over the weekend at the Manjimup Golf Club (it’s our first year in that association) and we were treated to lightning fast greens after they had held the PGA Pro Am there the week before (great fun when your home course is sand greens!!!) It is a Par 74 course for the ladies and I had 95/78 on day one with the Club House leader for the Gross on 87 and the Nett leader 75 and then I had a day out on Sunday and ended up with 86/69 which was the equal best gross score for the weekend and also the lowest nett score by 2 strokes. I won the Silver Division (0-20 hcps) 36 Hole Nett Event in the Championship. I was pretty proud of my efforts, plus I ended up being 5th in the Gross! Did major damage to my handicap- lost 2.1 with the CCR being out to the max (76) both days and was on my lowest exact EVER 14.6 until I played my home course today and got another 0.1!!! |

Topic: Golf Talk / Weekday Scores Woeful Day today. Stoke MM and counted putts … would rather NOT have known …. nothing would drop 36 putts …. last medal round I had 25 and won the day. Today I had 98 off the stick for an 81 nett. On reflection maybe staying at home with my chest/head cold would have been a better option than playing in a hurricane BUT I HATE missing golf. Oh well there’s always next time :) |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend? Stableford today … Mixed comp and started with 18pts on the front nine and came home in better shape with 21pts but only good enough to get me 4th in a countback. Great day to be on the golf course weather today south of Perth was stunning!! |

Had our Open Day today. 82 in the field playing 4BBB Stableford.
We won the gross with 32pts (Nett 46) Unfortunately as a
partnership we parred the same holes and bogeyed the same holes
but we were still 4pts better than the next best |

Topic: Golf Talk / Weekday Scores
Have been lucky enough to play on some great courses over the
last few days... Royal Perth (Fri) in their 36 hole Silver Salver
Stroke event and Mt Lawley Golf Club (Mon) in the 36 Hole State
Country Foursomes. I always take a while to adjust to the green
speeds (I play on sand greens) and they were super slick at RPGC
(having just hosted the Junior Boys National Titles) and pretty
quick at Mt Lawley too. Both courses were in outstanding
condition and on the whole I was pretty happy with the way I
played REALLY
poorly |

Topic: Golf Talk / What age were you when u started and how well are you playing now?
Started age 42 (at the end of the golf season) on a 36 handicap
and got to 25 at the end of my first full season a year later.Got
to my all time lowest handicap this year (31/1) of 15.2 but a
couple of months of not swinging it well has seen me (as of
yesterday's 36 holes at Royal Perth Golf Club) get to 17 h/c
again (16.6). The aim is 13 at the end of the year and I'm
still working on it |

Sorry to hear this news ... I also used John and found him to be
particularly generous and good at what he did. Hope the golfers
in Canberra support him if he sets up shop over there! |

Played in the South West Games today at the Bunbury Golf Club.
Ended up with 90/74 and was fairly happy with that
Triple bogey and too many d.bogeys destroyed what had the
potential to be a very good card. Started with a par and ended
with 3 pars in a row and seven in total for the round
The course (apart from a couple of patchy greens) was in great
nick and the putts rolled beautifully! They didn't always
drop but they rolled beautifully!! |

Topic: Golf Talk / How did you all play this weekend?
Played in a 2 day tournament last weekend at Busselton (Stephen
Leaney's home town!) The warmup Ambrose event on the Fri for
the team I was in was a shocker ... I think we ended up 6 over
par ... couldn't sink a putt between the four of us!!
Sat I started with a d.bogey and then promptly eagled the next
hole (Par 4 2nd shot from about 150m out
Sun was virtually groundhog day ... but without the eagle
So both days ended up 95/79!! Oh well there's always next
round |

Congratulations Jack
Played Stableford yesterday and had a very up and down round.
Every now and then it was very, very good but more often than not
it was awful |

Topic: Golf Talk / My Nanna has stopped playing Golf.
Virge I hope I can still be playing golf when I get to your
Nana's age ... it's certainly my aim and my absolute
dream to get to an 11 handicap. I live by this little quote ..
You don't stop playing because you get old ... You get old
because you stop playing.
And I'm sure she's living proof of that philosophy! At
the tournament I played in last weekend Lindsay Stephens (former?
WA Professional golfer) mother Dot was playing aged 80 and off a
21 handicap and I thought that was impressive |
