Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Here’s the final ladder. A tight finish, with two tipsters tied for first place. My guess is that normal countback rules apply, where the last round is used to break a tie. Under those rules, JasonP is the champ, finishing on +5, and an excellent -4 for the last round. Stuart Appleby 73 68 72 69 +2 It was the Big Easy that delivered the trophy to JP, with a fine 66 to close including 6 birdies. This covered up for Chuck Howell’s forgettable tournament, failing to break par on any round. Runner-up: watto17 (+5) Adam Scott 72 68 70 72 +2 Unlucky not to win, Watto’s picks all finished on respectable scores, although Boo Weekley was up and down and only barely made the cut at all. He was also (partly) responsible for Garcia’s undignified exit after the 3rd round. (Boo, not Watto.) Third place: muntz (+7) Geoff Ogilvy 69 68 74 69 Ev A brave effort from the tipping organiser, but in the end Stricker’s opening 77 derailed the entry. Honourable Mention: Naga: Thanks for everyone who managed to submit a valid entry. Some prizes may be forthcoming… Full ladder follows. Muntz |

Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Despite making my best attempt to trash talk my way out of the competition, I’m still hanging onto 2nd place. Ogilvy’s +4 was compensated by Choi’s -2 and Stricker’s -1. The big winner was watto17 who rode Boo’s 65 from 5th to 1st place. Scott had an eagle and two birdies to finish even for the day, while Rose had 6 birdies (!!!) and a quadruple bogey (!!!) on the third to also finish even and +3 overall. JasonP is hanging on to third place after Apples and Chuck both shot 72s. Given the top three tipsters don’t have any players in common, it’s likely the lead will get swapped around during the final round. As already indicated, Gripnrip and Stretch are both DQed. For shame fellas. watto17 Scott Weekley Rose 3 muntz Ogilvy Stricker Choi 5 JasonP Appleby Howell, C Els 9 chris9485 N Green Mickelson Rose 10 rebjon Appleby Mickelson Donald 13 dougie1 O’Hern Cink Donald 13 longoffthetee Appleby Furyk Choi 15 makybe_05 Appleby Furyk Rose 18 tiprat Appleby Furyk Donald 18 zenobia Pampling Furyk Choi 18 judgesmails R Green Furyk Donald 20 gcswinger Baddeley Mickelson Choi 21 locko243 O’Hern Furyk Rose 21 bradharro Pampling Furyk Donald 21 Andre_W N Green Stricker Stenson 22 barryl Ogilvy Johnson Rose 24 Titch Pampling Mickelson Singh 25 aidanjm Baddeley Mahan Goosen 25 Beno Appleby Stricker Sabbatini 27 AlexMc Baddeley Ogilvie Els 27 jackb_93 Baddeley Furyk Rose 29 Danz Pampling DiMarco Choi 30 Milhouse Pampling Mickelson Cabrera 35 Tai Senden Watson Goosen 39 brentp R Green Watson Choi 41 archi Pampling DiMarco Singh 42 kyle Appleby Furyk Clark 43 longnstraight Baddeley Mahan Romero 46 Gripnrip Baddeley Toms Garcia DQ The_Big_Stretch Baddeley Johnson Garcia DQ |

Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Apart from Sergio’s DQ, the big story of the day was Boo Weekley’s 65 (he three putted the 18th). Nathan Green shot 67 to get back to even, Choi had a 68, Senden, Els and Stricker had 69s. Bad days? Lefty shot a 75 to get out to +7, Goosen and Geoff Ogilvy both shot +4. Here are the standings for players that made the cut: AU: Senden -2, Scott N Green Ev, Ogilvy +1, Appleby +3, R Green +5, O’Hern Pamps +6. Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp muntz no probs mate I know you don;t expect it at all You would think so as the largest golf site in the Southern Hemisphere but unfortunately not. It would be about 2 years since we have been given something outside of the prizes on the site. Crazy stuff I know….probably all sitting in the Golf Digest offices I’d say ;) |

Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Read ‘em and weep fellas. Longnstraight is leading the Naga title with +44, and only has Mahan left as a live pick. BrentP is second last despite having only one pick miss the cut, but that pick was Bubba who gets marked down for a +36… ouch. rebjon and JasonP are giving Muntz a run for his money at +6. Muntz and JasonP finished second and third in the British, so should both now be elevated to Tipping Guru status. Andre_W’s win is looking more like a fluke now, although his left field Nathan Green pick is coming good. muntz Ogilvy Stricker Choi 4 rebjon Appleby Mickelson Donald 6 JasonP Appleby Howell, C Els 6 chris9485 N Green Mickelson Rose 8 watto17 Scott Weekley Rose 8 dougie1 O’Hern Cink Donald 9 longoffthetee Appleby Furyk Choi 15 makybe_05 Appleby Furyk Rose 16 tiprat Appleby Furyk Donald 16 gcswinger Baddeley Mickelson Choi 18 zenobia Pampling Furyk Choi 18 Titch Pampling Mickelson Singh 18 aidanjm Baddeley Mahan Goosen 19 locko243 O’Hern Furyk Rose 19 bradharro Pampling Furyk Donald 19 barryl Ogilvy Johnson Rose 20 judgesmails R Green Furyk Donald 20 Gripnrip Baddeley Toms Garcia 24 Beno Appleby Stricker Sabbatini 26 Andre_W N Green Stricker Stenson 26 AlexMc Baddeley Ogilvie Els 28 Milhouse Pampling Mickelson Cabrera 28 jackb_93 Baddeley Furyk Rose 29 Danz Pampling DiMarco Choi 30 Tai Senden Watson Goosen 36 The_Big_Stretch Baddeley Johnson Garcia 39 archi Pampling DiMarco Singh 40 kyle Appleby Furyk Clark 41 brentp R Green Watson Choi 43 longnstraight Baddeley Mahan Romero 44 |

Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Now lads, no need to get stroppy, this is supposed to be fun and games remember. If the ISG kitty is empty, so be it… It may be the Tiger Woods show at Southern Hills but in the ISG tipping comp it’s Muntz that is dominating (yeah, baby…) With Ogilvy and Stricker both posting -2 in the second round (Stricker just making the +5 cut line) the Munster has lifted to head the ISG field heading into the weekend. The news was not so good for a lot of other tipsters with Badds.com missing the cut at +7. Furyk also fell on the wrong side of the line at +6, but the real train wrecks were Bubba (+18), Tim Clark (+14), Romero (+13), DiMarco (+12), Cabrera (+11), Sabbatini and Zach J (+10) and Stenson (+9). J Ogilvie (+7) and Singh (+6) also missed. Those scores get doubled to give an estimate for a 4 round score. Nice to see only one of the Aussies picked missed the cut, unlike the British when most of them were hanging out in the pub over the weekend. AU: Ogilvy -3, Senden -1, Scotty Ev, Apples +1, N Green +3, O’Hern Pamps +4, R Green +5 * * cut * * Badds.com +7 The Septics on the other hand couldn’t handle the heat, although a bunch just sneaked across the cut line. (Lets not mention Eldrick, who managed a lazy 63…) US: Cink Lefty +2, Mahan +4, Howell Stricker Toms Boo +5 * * cut * * Furyk +6, J Ogilvie +7, Zach J +10, DiMarco +12, Bubba +18 The Seth Effrican dynamic duo of Els and Goose are setting the pace for the World team, but Sergio had a +5 to just make the cut. Most of the others are done for the weekend. World: Els Ev, Goose +1, Choi +2, Rose Donald +3, Sergio +5 * * cut * * Vijay +6, Stenson +9, Sabbatini +10, Cabrera +11, Romero +13, Tim Clark +14 |

Topic: ISG PGA Championship Tipping Comp Well, quick post although the field is still out there. Nice to see the Aussie contingent hasn’t bombed out like they did at the British. My nomination for longshot, John Senden, is best at -2 with my tip, Geoff Ogilvy at -1. Nathan Green is at +5, but the others are +2 or better. The Argentinians hit a brick wall, Romero and Cabrera are both at +11. In case you didn’t hear, Cabrera racked up a 10 at a par 3. John Daly is the leading Yank at -3 (not sure it would be fair to let Julie claim him now…) A few of the other US picks are struggling though: Bubba is +9, DiMarco is +8, Ogilvie +7, Stricker +7 (sob), Boo is +6, Chuck is +5, and so on. The British playoff guys are doing good: Harrington is -1 and Garcia is even. Looks like the ISG tipsters are geniuses: Justin Rose is -1 and Choi is +1. However Stenson and Singh are +5, and Tim Clark is +7. Early leaderboard: Gripnrip +1, aidanjm +2, barryl +2, gcswinger +4. Our British Open champ Andre_W is the back marker at +17..!! (N Green, Stricker, Stenson.) Could get ugly. |
