If you happen to find yourself in this fast growing backwater of India, 170Kms inland from Mumbai, be sure to drop into the Pune Golf Club for a round. Cost is only R750 mid week and with a caddy and ball cady adding only another R150 to the cost of 18 holes it’s a bargin. A good caddy here can make up to 5 shots difference over the course of a round.

The courseitself is a parklnad course with long narrow undulating fairways and a number of water carrys to weel surfaced tiered greens> An aussie green keeper was employed here a couple of years ago and the greens have really benefitted from his touch.

Well work the walk as a break from the pace of life and noise of India amd if you have to be in Pune a good chance to escape for a while.

16th at the lakes (nsw). It’d be simplier to just drop 2 balls in the water, mark a triple and walk to the 17th.

Royal Sydney. Apart from the par3’s its flat and boring and the members are the most unfriendly people I’ve ever met.
