Hard to say anything more about the ball in question without actually trying one. There was however a very good article about Anthony Kim on one of the S.I links.

yeah good. i’m sure tdoddsy realises i wasn’t criticising him or anyone in general except you. too many people like you you oxygen thief

You and tdoddsy should have a fine old time together.Daly’s still a no-hoper and you pair wouldn’t have half a brain between you .
It’s great that the halfwits of the world have a golfer to look up to and to that extent I guess he serves some sort of purpose.

i personally haven’t met john daly.
yes in many ways he’s a grub.
i do love watching him and reading about him because you never know whats coming next.
would i live my life like he does? absolutely not.
do i aspire to be like him? no.

But seeing as we’re all entitled to an opinion why are there always some people who is mentally incapable of verbalising their opinion in such a way as they are not slandering anyone else?

So it’s fair enough for tdoddsy to make up crap about me but if I poke fun at him it’s somehow unfair.Get a grip you pair, preferably of each other.

Topic: Golf Talk / Players offers fans major excitement

This should be a great event with the potential to really see some big
scoring swings over the last few holes.Haven’t seen much of young Matt Jones over the last few weeks but it does seem to be the type of course he could do really well at. It’s almost taking over from The Masters in the excitement stakes from my perspective.

i love this guy. with so many toffee nosed wankers involved in the game at every level he definately mixes it up. he’s great!

It’s good that you do,but I really have found him to be quite an ignorant person in regard to his playing partners so have no time for him.

would u rather watch paint dry cause thats what its like watching people like hensby, zach johnson etc.

daly is a personality and golf is in short supply of personalities.

love him or hate him daly is good for the game

He’s not a “personality” just an aberration .Being different doesn’t necessarily make him interesting (to me at least) . I’d much rather just watch some great shotmaking and avoid the bizarre behaviour .
The only good he can do for the game is to leave it.

have u met John Daly? cause u really seem to hate him.

watching the us pga last year was a classic. that shot off the tee over that water hazard (can’t remember the hole) that EVERYONE layed up. thats right everyone played safe but not Big John he gave everyone a thrill and the people who were following him said that it was worth watching him all day to see that. then in his press conference they asked him about a practice round he said i didnt have one it was too damn hot and he was playing slots over the road. lol.

if u dont consider him a personality i dont know what is.

i bet u didnt even laugh when woody austin fell in the water or smashed his putter against his head.

u are obviously one of those pompus arses that plays this game. u remind me of the judge in caddyshack.

This is the same John Daly who got involved in a fight with an old man following his round after hitting into the group ahead on numerous occasions, the same one who (by his own admission) got drunk and drove through a string of red lights at high speed, the same one who turned around at an invitational event and hit driver back over the top of a large group of spectators; yeah, he’s an absolute hero.I was really pleased for him when he won at Crooked Stick, but it’s been downhill since then .Shame the talent wasn’t given to someone who’d make some decent use of it and bring credit to the game.Think what you will,he’ll always be a total no-hoper to me.
You’re probably the sort of person who yells out “get in the hole” when he tees off on a par 5.

Topic: Golf Talk / Scott reaches world number three

Just one more indication of the gulf between Woods and everyone else . You only have to win once a year and get a few decent results to move up the charts because Woods wins so many other events.
Having said that , Adam does seem to be playing a little better this year, which is nice.

That’s still a good joke.Unfortunately it does remind me of Mianne Bagger who is really quite scarey but could no doubt beat me off the women’s tees.

Topic: Rules of Golf / Improving footing and double hit

You can’t dislodge sufficient sand to build up a level footing .This would especially refer to pushing sand down from a higher level in a similar manner to that which I saw Wayne Grady do in a tournament long ago . It was wrong then and it’s still wrong today. They can only move their feet enough to obtain a solid footing rather than altering the topography of the bunker to suit their needs.
If you strike the ball twice during one swing it counts as 2 shots.

Yes; you are meant to count his shots. If not, then what purpose does it serve to have a marker?.You could otherwise just rely on people’s honesty (or lack of same).

They seem to be an excellent putter for otherwise good players who are inherently poor putters.J.B. Holmes would be your prime example . Maybe wait until the novelty wears off and pick up one cheaply in a few months. In the meantime , why not check out the Nike IC 20-20 which seems to feature well in test results?

Is there somewhere that you can ask him why,if he initially shoots a 62 in a tournament must he inevitably shoot 70 + in the second round?

Topic: Rules of Golf / Ball on putting green assisting competitor

Since you asked;the decision is really quite clear .You really should mark your ball if it is assisting one of your fellow competitors.
Very unlikely that someone external is ever going to enforce this unless you are playing in some really important event that has roving officials.Just seems like a matter of basic integrity to me and it’s something that I always do , in fairness to the rest of the field.Others may feel differently.

Topic: The Lounge / You Tube "rape" victim charged.

I do not know if a commendation is in order for posting a sex video on u tube.
Initially neither party went to the police about this, and so far no charges have been proven.

I believe your previous comments would discourage a genuine victim of rape from coming forward, and I do not understand why you would bother to make them

Are you actually confusing the word “condemnation” (which I posted) with “commendation”?.That’s all I can possibly think of .
It’s women who falsely claim to have been raped who make things impossible for the genuine victims.

Topic: The Lounge / You Tube "rape" victim charged.

I wish there was a law that would enable golfers who can flush a 1-iron to be able to flush a 1-iron into the groin region of a convicted rapist to teach them more than a few lessons. To all of you Club Tech heads, your vice and heat-torch would also be used. If you rape some person in parts of Asia and are convicted of it, goodnight.
Sorry boys, touchy subject for me having had a friend raped a few years ago. The guy was shot so revenge in a way. Wish I got the chance to use my 1-iron on him. I would’ve been a stinger in more ways the one.

If it is your dream, make it happen….

Have to think that we’d all agree with you ; just seems that this pitiful woman was not in fact raped but had consensual sex with a number
of teenage boys, then had them charged with rape later.

either you are taking the piss or you are just illustrating my first reason

Certainly not disagreeing with you in this case . Just mentioned
it because it was a notorious case where things don’t appear to have been as initially reported. The teenage boys certainly don’t deserve anything other than condemnation for most of their actions;it’s just that it seems that the police are now saying that they’re not rapists as initially alleged.

Topic: The Lounge / Should Nick D'Arcy go to the games?

Initially I was all for banning this bloke after seeing the damage that he did to Simon Cowley after the qualifying sessions (and the extended drinking session) However, the more info that’s made available ,the more I can see some extenuating circumstances. Seems that he was mouthing off after drinking 12 pots (or schooners) when Simon Cowley told him to settle down and slapped D’Arcy’s face.Whilst it was initially alleged that D’Arcy punched Cowley it now turns out to have been a single blow with his elbow that did all the damage. When you realise that D”Arcy is the 200 metres Butterfly champion, you can understand the upper arm and shoulder strength that he would have developed over the years. Not surprising that one ill judged action ,fuelled by way too many beers could have caused such damage to Cowley’s face. He’ll be lucky to stay out of prison I guess, but maybe his actions weren’t so bad as originally suggested.

Topic: The Lounge / You Tube "rape" victim charged.

Knew this looked dodgey from the very beginning. The 24 yr old woman who was said to have been raped by a number of teenage boys after she invited them home , has been charged with under age sex and perverting the course of justice,She’d alleged that they must have spiked her drink. Never made sense that a woman of this age would invite teenage boys into her home and sit around drinking champagne unless she was either astonishingly naive or was planning something .When I originally mentioned this to my wife she was outraged at my allegedly sexist point of view. The fact that the woman had only complained months later after it appeared on You Tube should have made police suspicious at the time.

Topic: Golf Talk / Broomstick Swept From Augusta

This exact “rumor” was floating around this time last year, I heard from local golf pro, but not about Augusta. It was rumored to be a rule change being contemplated by the R&A & USGA.
May be being floated again to see what reaction from the golfing public….sounds to me like it may be surfacing again.

Sounds more like an April Fool’s prank to me.

Topic: Golf Talk / Broomstick Swept From Augusta

Just reading in April Golf Australia mag the broomstick putter will be banned from this years Masters Tournament. Tournament chairman Bill Payne, states that in an equipment related change, Augusta National has decreed that every Masters competitor must use a putter that is the shortest club in his bag and that the hands must be the only part of the body in contact with that club.

I’ve looked for a link to this and can find nothing. Is this an early April fool’s prank by someone or is this meant to be taken seriously?
Not saying that you’re wrong,it’s just quite bizarre.V.J. for one will be fairly unhappy about this if correct.

It would be a favour to VJ. He’s tried everything but this year.

You must have missed last week’s event in that case , where he used the belly putter to very good effect.
