That clearly will not work. You also need a match stick.

This foursome would be a blast and Barkley would insure that I didn't get beat by everyone.

Haven't you seen the slightshot irons ad? Charles Barkley is feeling it!

Well, Damo, it appears I was not the only 'amateur' in the thread at OzGolf who was requesting the findings of your 'investigations' on George W Bush. I guess we are destined to continue our 'amateur' ways without your expertise on the subject.

A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young mothers and their small children. "You all have obsessions," he observed. To the first mom, Mary, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You even named your daughter Candy." He turned to the second mom, Ann: "Your obsession is with money. Again, it manifests itself in your child’s name, Penny." He turns to the third mom, Joyce: "Your obsession is alcohol. This too manifests itself in your child’s name, Brandy." At this point, the fourth mother, Kathy, gets up, takes her little boy by the hand and whispers, "Come on, Dick, we’re leaving."

Well it's that way with fairways, so I assume it would be the same with greens. I remember in one major (the one where Vijay Singh beat Justin Leonard in a play off) the commentators were discussing the amount of putts Phil Mickelson had and commented that because he putted from just off the green on one occasion, that it wouldn't count towards his putt total.

I could be imagining things?

Well, since this thread got bumped up anyway and I would like to steer it away from turning into another debate with Damo, I'll repost the video that was taken towards the end of last year (a few people were having problems with the AVI format, so Jono was nice enough to compress and convert it to WMV).

It can be viewed here.

It's quite a big change from the video taken a few months before hand. I am no longer trying to hit the casing off the ball and my tempo seems a lot better for it (although, there is still obviously lots of room for improvement). Now, before anyone else mentions it - it was casual day, so lay off the outfit.

Just allow him to have fun and develop a general enjoyment for the game. If you force him to hit from the fairway when he wants to hit from the rough (or vice versa), he will see golf as a chore (something you are forcing him to do) and won't be as enthusiastic to play.

Of course, I am no child (or golf) expert. So I'm sure someone (such as Onewood) could give you some better advice.

Sorry to hear about your problems with an Ebay auction, dgstones. I am curious as to what method you used to pay at the end of the auction? When I had problems with an auction I had won (significant delays with the shipping duration), I got the credit card company involved who were willing to undo the transaction. I know for you that this solution won't make it any less annoying that you have been scammed, but it will ensure that you're not out of pocket whilst the investigations are taking place.

There are some things I try to avoid buying off Ebay (items that are hard to examine for use), and one of those is software. There isn't a whole lot stopping a seller from copying the CDs, stealing the CD key, and then auctioning it off. There have even been auctions (one that finished just recently for Adobe Photoshop 4) that have contained photos of the CD with the CD key printed on the front. I can't say I would be too keen on bidding for such an item.

I'll start taking your advice, Damo, when you get over being a $%#@ stirrer with no backing (and we both know what I am referring to). Since that is never going to happen, I guess I'll continue to take your posts for what they are worth (not much).

A beautiful, voluptuous woman went to a gynaecologist.  The doctor took one look at her, and all his professionalism went out the  window. He immediately told her to undress. After she had disrobed,  the doctor began to stroke her thigh. Doing so, he asked her, “Do you know  what I’m doing?”
“Yes,” she replied, “you’re checking for any abrasions or dermatological abnormalities.”
“That is right,” said the doctor. He then began to fondle  her breasts.
“Do you know what I’m doing now?”
“Yes,” the woman said, “you’re checking for any lumps or  breast cancer.”
“Correct,” replied the shady doctor.
Finally, he mounted his patient and started having sexual  intercourse with her. He asked, “Do you know what I’m doing  now?”
“Yes,” she said. “You’re getting herpes, which is why I  came here in the first place.”

Top first post.

Haha, it's not sticking out as much as I first experimented with quite a few months ago, but my posture has improved quite a bit since then. I have a video that was taken just over a month ago that you can take a look at if you are interested.

Hi Peanuts,

It's going very slowly. I haven't been playing a lot the last few months due to various other commitments. I'm still keen, but I doubt I will be anything close to the pro ranks unless I start commiting a lot more time to it (I haven't even received my handicap yet, doh!). It's just just difficult to justify spending all day at the golf course when I really need to find a job to get some steady income.

I am the best friend Tiger could have, he just hasn't met me yet. I would set him up with an ugly mole for a girlfriend, take Elin off his hands, and that way (similar to the theory Andrew touched on) he won't want to go back home to the behemoth that is his significant other. Hence, he'll be closing the range more often than Vijay.

Topic: Golf Equipment / Balls ????

Ok, can someone explain to me why (or more like how) the wedge distance on the balls can go further than the iron distance (see OnaBreak's link). I only just skimmed over it, so maybe there is an explaination.

In relation to the golf balls I am currently using, I have been trying out the Nike 'Spin Control' golf balls. I am keen to give the Nike 'One (black)' and Nike 'One (gold)' a go, but they are rather pricey.

Kind regards,

Ben (Ducky).
