They've got these drivers on sale a Drummondgolf in Melbourne for $379 and I'm tempted, anyone have any information on these suckers? Particularly I'm interested in the appearance at address, forgiveness around the face and especially the performance of the stock shaft (made by fujikura I think).

Any info would be appreciated!

everything abt the driver is good...except the shaft...

if u have a moderate swing speed, it'll do the job...

to me, it plays almost a flex and a half lower...

I've got the 410 8.5 in my room atm...and am looking for a decent shaft to install in...

I had a feeling that the shaft might be a bit soft. Got a prolite 35s in my 9.5 at the moment, but I hit it way too high as it is. I'd be interested to hear what ideas youve got for other shafts...

Aye, annoys the crap out of me that I only get about 5m roll off my tee shots! I like the feel of the prolite, and I've tried the EI-70, vista pro and hm-40 as well. Never tried the Proforce 75, but I'll try to find one and give it a shot.

You think the weight of the shaft will make a big difference? The vista pro was an 80 stiff, but I found it fairly heavy to swing.

I used to have the same problem with the stock Taylormade stiff shaft on the R580. I replaced it with an aftermarket Speeder 757 stiff and I seemed to get a more roll.

There are a lot of factors to consider such as weight, tip, flex, loft etc. I have the EI-70 on a 975J 8.5° and it is comparable in flight, roll and distance with the R580 9.5° Fujikura stiff (the TM is more forgiving).

As Mau stated, you need to try a few shafts to find one that matches your swing.

I'll wait a few more months before I look at the Nike again.

looks like I'll have to shop around, does anyone know of any websites that give info on different shafts, the effects of tipping and other such clubmaking information?

idgolfguy, what do you mean that you'll wait a few months before you look at the nike again?

not sure wat id meant by his wait a few months...but I love the feel of the nike head...and as soon as can find a decent shaft, and can't sell my 410cc 8.5, (and sell off my other drivers) I'm gonna reshaft it, and have it in the bag...

based in central melbourne Mau, why do you ask? I've heard good and bad things about the ignite from others, though everyone seems to agree that when you get it right its mighty long...

I just bought a 460 ignite and its longer then my 975D and heaps more forgiving. Im also selling it now to try other drivers to see which one I will keep. If interested you can try out my 460 unless you got your heart set on the 410.

They've got both 9.5 and 10.5 degree clubs. My R540 is 9.5 (with prolite 35s), and I hit that high enough so I'd be looking at the 9.5 I think.
