Hi Guys, I have been a member here for a number of years but not really that active as a contributor. I am now in a position where I would like to take the next step in my golf development by becoming a member at a club . I would like some feedback/recommendations regarding some clubs that might be suitable for me. I usually pay green fees and regularly play at the local tracks near where I live like Ivanhoe, Bundoora, Royal Northcote and Royal Park. I have 1 mate that I play with regularly however have been playing solo recently which is becoming boring.
By way of background I live in Brunswick. I am keen to play on Saturdays and whenever I get a chance during the week. I have lots of flexibility with work at the moment so I can probably play once or twice during the week. I am looking for value for money, a good challenging course (preferably in the north or west) but also a club that isn't stuck in the 50's. I have never played in a competition before or had a handicap however I can break 90 quite easily on most days.
Any contribution/feedback would be greatly appreciated. My current options as I see them are:
1. Northern
2. Club Mandalay (not sure this is a club membership per se- more of a yearly pass)
3. Growling Frog (same comment as above)
4. Yarra Bend (same comment as above)
5. Mt Derrimut
Cheers
