I know this has been discussed before, but the last thread was about two years ago so I figured there might be some new feedback maybe?

I'm after a remote controlled buggy and I'm not keen on paying the $2k for a new MGI. I'm looking at the Condor golf TRX remote which would be $880 delivered or the Zippy Alligator which is $1299 right now. Both with Li batteries. The advantage of the Zippy one is that the importer is local here in in Wollongong so I'm guessing I should get decent service hopefully.

Any feedback/other options?

Just check on whether the one you want is the sort that develops a mind of its own and runs off to drown itself when your back is turned.

Went ahead with the Zippy Golf Alligator. The guy that runs the company lives 5 km from us so I stopped by to have a look. Having the importer so close by feels like a big advantage if there's any issues in the future. Haven't been on course with it yet. It will have it's debut in the monthly medal this Saturday at Port Kembla.

First impressions after putting it together are very positive though. Quality materials and all the parts fit together very well. The Li battery is amazingly light for being a 36 hole battery. Being fully waterproof is of course a bonus as well if I happen to send it into the pond on 16!  :P

With "Alligator" in the title, one would hope it's fully waterproof.

I'm tipping most electric buggy owners will have experienced it at some point.

The lesson...when your idiot playing partner chooses to play his signature "driver off the deck" and proceeds to carve it into the knee-high rough...let him look for it himself.

Did some on course research yesterday and it turns out your standard run of the mill push buggy/trolley can also run away and into hazards by themselves!!

Have had a few occasions where the buggy has run off into hazards or rough, dumping my stuff all over the place.
