I am a golf coach based in Brisbane and I am wanting to know your thoughts regarding online golf instruction.
There is obviously a huge amount of content already available....
but what would you need in order to feel you have a golf coach online as opposed to generic swing tips...
I have never watched a coaching or swing tip vid.
I prefer lessons with a coach. Face to face so chat and feed back is instantaneous.
And have a playing lesson too.
My course management is sooooo boring but it works.
In my humble opinion there are (think of a huuuugely massive number) of choppers who look for golf nirvana on youtube.
And guess what?
It's not there.
It's in having paid lessons with a coach that your happy with.
Sticking to the lesson plan with out deviation no matter how bad it gets.
And practicing the right stuff.
I guess it's way easier to jump on your lap top
Google some stuff do a quick "yeah that's my problem" and off you go.
The number of blokes who say "I had a lesson but it didn't help so I went back to what I did before" And that'd be over what 2 or 3 games.
Well guess what it didn't work before you had your lesson and still doesn't.
That's why your still off what you're off.
I remember playing with a bloke who like lots of players struggle in bunkers, I said to him after numerous rants and expletives "have you thought about just having a bunker lesson?"
His reply "nah waste of time the bunkers are farrked here"
That's the mentality your dealing with.
My coach has an app that you can use for distance coaching.
It's on my phone but have never used it.
I guess I'm lucky I have found a good coach who I get on with, he understands I'm a feel player and he knows I will do the home work.
Been nearly I don't know 8 years now. Been as high as 12 and as low as 6.7
Played with him at his home track last Monday
National old course.
Get a decent coach (or not) and reap the benefits (on line or not)
Good luck Coach
