Some dickhead didn't do this today and played mine. Cost me the hole (2 pts). How he didn't notice my Vision didn't have a swoosh or a Big A with a circle round it is beyond me.

Look at the positive side Mick

hopefully the guy will use the vision ball, realize how good it is and get in contact with Boz to place an order.

So every vision ball you loose helps Boz promote to another new golfer.

What else should be addressed?

9.2a/2 Because the player was not looking at the ball, he or she was not aware that the ball had moved, how can you replace a ball that you did not know had moved?

9.4b/2

14.3c(2)/2 I think Donald Trump has been at these interpretations!

1) Presumably someone else made him aware

2) & 3) Can you explain the problems?

We played today at Northern, invoking the new rules. The one that clearly had the biggest impact was the flagstick rule...there is no doubt whatsoever that this will significantly speed up play.

The drop from knee height rule was also pretty sensible. All in all, very positive towards the changes.

I came across the new rules early today when I dropped from a water hazard (or whatever they are called now). Dropping from knee height felt like cheating.

I agree with the potential for leaving the flagstick in to speed play, especially for the first longish putt.

All I can see with putting with flagstick in is more damaged holes as you people cave them in trying to retrieve the ball

People smash the sides in when replacing the flag or using those ball retrievers on the end of their putters anyway.

Went to Keysie last night for a few hours of practice and used the new rules

Played the back nine and then played holes 10,8 and 9 a couple of times to finish off.

Absolutely loved being able to remove loose impediments in the bunkers and putted with the flag in on all putts, even at close range.

I found putting with the flag in a helpful visual aid when lining up putts

Something about having a target above the ground certainly helped.

So free relief from an embedded ball anywhere through the course...
Are we also talking about bunkers here ?

I see, the use of the word "anywhere" seems to be a wrong choice in words then.
Thought I found a way to help myself there 😂

So first round yesterday under the new rules. So far so good. First knee drop i watched a guy do was from a point about half way between his knee and waist.

Non one left the flag in when putting. Although we did discuss the inevitable day we play with a bloke who wants it in to putt but no one else does. Likely the same sort of person that will mark and not putt out as well. That will be a fun day when that happens :)

So far though, 3 minutes to search for a ball is not long enough. With the heavy rain the other week and the hot days our rough is quite lush and long throughout most of the course, meaning balls will sink down in it and disappear.

I lost 2 balls in the rough which i couldn't find in the 3 minutes. Both i knew roughly (no pun intended) where they were and actually found 1 probably around the 5 minute mark... but too late.

For a fast walker like myself, my 3 minutes can be expired before the other 3 playing players have completed hitting their approach shots.
