Who benefits from the whole thing other than them???? If there is money going to a cause, then good on em. If not, your are both insignificant farks.

They BOTH do tremendous things for children and the less fortunate in a number of ways.  They have done so for many years and even had a couple of golf tournaments that deliver straight to the respective charities.  If that is what this is for, tell the plebs about it.  Otherwise it is just two blokes spruiking how good they think they are and how much coin they have got to have a head to head.  It will manufacture millions of $$'s outside of what they bet.  Interesting to see if any of that goes to charities etc??

The key to success is to learn to do something right, then do it right every time. Oh I wish.....

Echoing what has been said. All tv rights, profits from souvenirs, gate takings etc to a charity or two.

Phil and Tiger to put up their own stakes of $10m.

Then we would see some real competition. Both don't know how to lose gracefully. Great television would ensue.

As it is promoted they both make a motza. Probably agree to split the $10m in the background. Zero interest from me.

Articles I've read suggest a streaming service by Bleacher Report.. sadly that app is "not available in your country".

I must admit that I'm a bit confused as to why the Australian market is simply offline for what I consider being a fairly big televised golfing event (yes opinions vary).

Where the money went

The teams of Woods and Mickelson announced that they will each donate a portion of the proceeds to charities of their choice, according to GolfChannel.com.

Steve Loy, Mickelson’s manager, said that Lefty plans to donate to three different charities: Mickelson’s own foundation, the Children of the 58 fund and the Las Vegas Shriners.

Woods’s agent said that Tiger planned to donate to his own foundation and other unspecified local charities.

When you don't want either player to win. Fair entertainment though.

it was the most boring match I've watched on tv, neither one of them would have beaten a top 10 player.

Tiger took 3 attempts to hit the green from 93 yards...

Didn't realise the betting undercurrent. I'm a punter but even the betting advertisements out here are starting to offend me.

Timing is everything and American sport is on the threshold of a betting revolution. Golf does not want to miss out after the US Supreme Court's decision to end a federal ban on sports punting.

The Match was a cynical play to get the ball rolling. It is well known that Mickelson loves a bet and plays high stakes money matches with fellow pros on the Tuesdays of tournament weeks.
