So headed down the highway to Derrimut to Cool Clubs pop up shop for my driver fitting the other day.
Started off with Zane measuring my existing driver (R15) and asking me what i was looking to gain from the fitting(improved dispersion and i wouldn't say no to a little more distance ). So hit half a doz shots with my club then asked if i'd got any idea which club head i thought would be best. Ping G400 max Zane agreed that would be one of his recommendations, so he paired it with a stiffer shaft and hit balls. Ball flight was higher straight away. Then he gave me the Rouge 10.5 tried it with a couple of different shafts, the whole time dispersion was better. Then we tried the Rouge in 9 deg head and with a couple of the shafts already tried. By the end of the session we'd noticed that even when i put a bad swing on where my miss was either over drawing or a puss fade that with the combination being used my misses weren't as bad ie just a straight miss.
The whole time Zane explained himself and what he was trying to me clearly. Explained that they don't fit to numbers(Pureform) that's why they hit out onto the range with real balls.
In the end i could have chose between two shaft options and it was made clear i might as well go with the cheaper option. Dispersion improved and a little more distance.
New club: Rouge 9 deg, Fuuji Pro 2.0 6 X(a full 1.5 swing weight heavier than my old shaft).
Just got to wait 2 weeks for the club to be made and shipped from Scottsdale.
