The player variable is not restricted to golf.

It's why there are so many different types of fins for surfboards. And surfboard shapes, designs. There is he added factor of different waves, but that's like different course conditions to an extent.

I totally get some golfers will prefer more roll to chip and run a ball. I just find it interesting that many who struggle to hold a green on their approach shots don't try a different ball. I've finally convinced a mate to try different balls, playing a Q star he always comments on his ball running off greens. He plays off 23. He found a Mizuno ball and played it and was amazed he was holding greens. He's since started testing different balls. I've suggested he look at the vision blue and red now too.

Had a hit with the yellow version of the avx today around Beacy. (6 over .... couldn't putt to save myself)

It's got to be Titleist's softest feeling golf ball, easy to spot yellow through the air, and on the ground .......and unlike Pro V's ..... durable.

I am really liking these balls ...... (just not the expected price) .... :(

I saw an invite on FB for the Titleist 500 AVX Golf Ball trial promotion.   Put my name down for it, so we will see if I can get some after June 16.

Hi Gaz,

OK the AVX is soft ,,,, but different from the softness of the TourSoft which I found to be really soft

and had a higher launch angle than the NXT Tour S ?

I still dont quite get the low trajectory approach with the softer core? I am going to try them when

I can as they are what I want my PTX 2.0 to be more like than anything else at this time ,,,,

Cheers,

Boz

Its an interesting ball ,,,,

Their blurb is odd ,,,,lowest trajectory / low spin / long distance / softest ball  ,,,

The initial short game trial was odd ,,, the cover is not soft like the ProV1 which I expected being a TPU version

not a thermo U cast version

It suits my game but I hit it high and hard with too much spin ,,,, I'm not the normal type player so I liked it more than

the ProV1X and the ProV1 that spins too much for me as at this time as I need help and forgiveness in feel.......

This is not a game changer in general I think it will confuse players a fair bit ,,,,,

Time will tell,

Cheers,

Boz

recieved  2 titleist avx balls in the mail from titlest

i do not usually  play titleist  balls for some reason i dont like them..as i usually play the callaway chrome softs

i must admit i like this ball  and may just come regular ball in the bag

i found that the ball didnt overly lose its colouration or scuff to badly

distance i was happy with  may have gained a bit  not much  but just a tad further then the callaway chromesoft

putting felt good  as well

may use it again next weekend

Ok I have been testing this now over the past two weeks ,,,,,, its an interesting adjustment from the ProV1.

I would play this ball and like it a lot more than the ProV1 for spin control / length and ProV1X for feel and

durability is much improved.

Looking at my current data as I am still not playing many 18 holes regular rounds I am a work in progress

that I hope daylight savings will help to get me going ,,,,

Driver swing speed 105 mph | Ball speed around 150 mph | high launch but not as high as I used to be.

I like the slightly harder cover and softer internals ,,,,

As an aside I have found the TourSoft to be way too soft for better type players it would fit inbetween

the SuperSoft / Superhot in my opinion.

Cheers,

Boz

i have been using the chromesofts for quite sometime

have been using the AVX with the trial pack and liked these balls the only titliest ball i have liked.

I have found this ball great from tee to green.. The ball doesnt check up as quick as what a chromesoft or prov will.

my playing partners also have tried the ball they found the ball to be hard but i say that is more of the outside layer then the core of the ball....

i do see the similar aspects of the chromesoft in this ball but also the similar dimple pattern as the Bridgestone e6

I honestly feel this ball fits the requirements of all golfers

I still don't really get the point of it. What benefits would golfers get from a low spinning ball?
