So thanks to Detour ,2Putts & Commish for making it a very enjoyable day at golf.

To the  overall winner Schmucks well done & go you rabbits.

 Happy birthday Greywolfe.

A big thanks to the Cpt for organising another great day.

A pleasure playing the round with Charlie, Scott and Brad. Some desperately unlucky (and desperately ****) golf but between all four of us, we probably put together a good round :)

Congrats Schmucky, sorry you're forced to play The Springs now!

Right....

Thank you to all who ventured to the magnificent golf facility that is Magenta Shores Golf and Country Club. It was a cracking day, a complete opposite to the conditions that we played in on our first visit nearly 4 years ago.

Thank you to my group of Peppas, Snorkelguru and newbie Halfer5, who passed the "BarnEsy test" with flying colours. Like some others, his first time at Magenta and early on it looked like he was going to rip it apart...starting with 5 straight pars, but as happens to most here, the course won on the day. We all look forward to you joining us again Halfer, and seeing how the h'capper treats you. It was obvious to see that the 5.5 you used to play off will be well achievable again.

Peppas was looking the goods late in his round after a very shaky start...3pts after 3 holes, 3 points after 5 holes, a magnificent "blind" birdie on 6 getting him back on the rails. 3 straight pars to begin the back nine and he was steaming to back to back wins but a final run of three one pointers saw his challenge fade to finish 2nd.

The ball knew it was hit when Snorkelguru took to the tee...man he hits it hard. Unfortunately when the direction was wrong, it was really wrong and he relied on his short game to pull through. A few putts that actually stopped short of the hole...these were fast greens...put paid to his attempt at a maiden WBT.

Moi...well, if I could have played my driver or three wood anywhere from 130 out or from bunkers..actually anytime an iron was required...I would have shat it in. They were the only decent clubs in my bag today. After parring the first I thought this is it...it certainly was..all downhill from there. Desperately Unlucky.

Congrats to Schmuck on his win and making it into the 2018 ISG NSW COC field. Nice birthday celebrations for Greywolfe taking home the mula from 2 NTP's.

Our next round is the Live4golf Memorial game on TUESDAY September 18 at Long Reef, followed by a dinner at the casa of renowned ISG party animal, Birdie Killer. Details will be up soon and we hope to see a good turnout to support a worthy cause and to celebrate a great mates birthday.

Thanks to 2Putts, the perennial Blacksnake who just keeps on giving in the humour stakes and the dancing dinosaur, Detour.  Never seen so many disco moves on the tee. Thoroughly enjoyable round of golf at a course that can give you so much but take it back in a breath. This was more than obvious in 2 Putts round where he hit some cracking shots only to be punished by a bounce the wrong way.  The greens were fantastic and the course overall in great condition.  It was a pleasure to play it in pleasant conditions although it still managed to bite me a few times.

Thanks to Capt Barnesy for organising the day and all the things he does to make the day as enjoyable as they are.

Well done to Peppas in putting Snorkel in the first group.  Everyone behind breathed a sigh of relief to know they could leave their hard hats in the car.

Congrats to Schmucko on his win in what Brad described as a very solid round.

Looking forward to our next meeting, although not necessarily the meeting point.

Firstly, thanks to all 12 of us who showed up! Best conditions for a tough track.
Thanks to JB for organising and tolerating us as we do he.
How did we not do a shout or toast for Greywolfes' Birthday. All the best Michael.

Thanks to Scooter, Zookeeper and Greywolfe (Birthday Boy) Although a bit loong mainly due to dissapearing golf balls (Zooey was hammered with crap luck on some good shots), the round was fun with all of us showing a range of shotmaking skills. ;)

Totally surprised that 34 would get the chocs, there was some good luck at play for certain. When I hit it off the reservation...it somehow stayed alive, mostly.

Anyway great to see you all again, Blacky keeps delivery quality, our golf is really only secondary.

Was great to meet everyone and put some faces to the names. Thanks to Barnesy for organising and talking me round the course (note to self - accept the offers of earplugs next time!) and to Peppas and Snorkel for the company and showing me by and large where not to go. I thought the course was good and get-able if you were straight off the tee, that said we played it at its most benign, when the wind blows it must be fierce. The greens were a little too tricked up for my liking, I putted over an elephant at the 9th and downhill on every other putt, and the bunkers were the softest I think I have ever seen, I can't remember the last time I was plugged in a bunker and it happened to me 3 times yesterday.

As for my round it was a tale of 14 holes and 4 horrors... pretty good first 14 (tee to green anyway) then the wheels came completely off for the last 4 where I had 6 bunker shots and 12 putts mixed in with some duffs which made my score horrendous. That said good to get the first card for my handicap done which will be falsely high if I continue to finish in that manner - el bandito ;)

Congrats to Schmucko on the win, Peppas must be kicking himself that he forgot how to play for the first 3 holes and then boarded the wrong train at the finish.

Will be back but not for the next one as I'm in Canada playing the Fairmont Jasper that day or the next.

Cheers Halfer5
