At Colonial today for Clive’s proposed development. Will see the 18 hole course slashed to 9 holes, presumably the best range on the coast gone, and eight 30 storey unit blocks built on prime flood plain. Don’t think the local roads can take the traffic they are already gridlocked twice a day. Land that’s set aside by council for gold, recreation and conservation. But think of the jobs.

Maybe. But another 1000 cars pulling into Robina Parkway each morning? Fark me. Takes an hour to do a 35 min drive to school and back as it is.

Maybe. But don’t we need floodplains for, I don’t know, flooding? I’ve seen debris from floods 4 ft up tree trunks on the range there.
Don’t think I’d have my car in a basement car park.

Clive's promotional billboards are obviously a start on his Gold Coast Mayor tilt.

Given the average IQ is less than the Sunny Coast he's a shoo in.

Brown paper bags trump your flood plains.

Build it and the idiots will come, not get insurance, then ask the taxpayers to bale them out.

Clive, of course, will create a $2 company to do the development so there is nobody to sue when it goes pear-shaped.

A year ago we played Colonial and all thought the same thing: Palmer is running the joint into the ground then going to turn the whole thing into residences.
Thought it was a good track, really tough test of golf.
But the conditioning was atrocious, almost like he didn’t want anyone to play it

It is a tough track. Water in play on most holes and they mow the grass short to the waters edge and the ground all slopes to the water. Almost anything offline is wet. Played it a fair bit 3-4 years ago.
The range is excellent. Proper balls, grass tees, putting green and chip/wedge green with bunkers. Reasonable price too.
