The egg doesn't roll far from the hen, and I am a specimen.

Just like a cue ball, I look good from all angles.

Don’t worry about proof reading, you will put OB out of work.

Puttover, you seem perfectly sensible and reasonable to me, which in most contexts would be a low bar but seems to be insurmountable for some here.

Please don't take any offence at the ham-fisted mouth breathers.

Thanks Deege

Thanks again but

For the great unwashed who don't understand how to prepare for a major. Practice, dress rehearsal, taper, main event.

This week was designated as practice week and all scores were to be treated as such. At no time have I hit conservative shots, every shot was of hero expectation. I even nominated my precise score of 90.

I foreshadowed short game practice Tuesday and Today but soreness put that off track and today I was busy with other stuff. The revised goal was off the Blue tees next Wednesday.

So tomorrow is another practice day with no layups. As planned I'll be practicing under lights at 6:30 for an hour. In the round I'll be concentrating on getting my hybrids straighter and short game practice. I expect something like 88, a 2 shot improvement on yesterday based on my improved putting on the back 9.

Saturday is medal day and it will be match practice. Playing conservative, laying up and trying for the least possible errors. 86 being the target for the day.

Depending on how I come up there will be another practice round on Sunday. I felt very well this morning so golf fitness is returning but any niggles and I'll miss Sunday. If I play it will be another practice round working on whatever is misfiring in the next 2 days. Might even leave the driver and hybrids in the boot and just hit irons. No score expectations just tapering before Wednesday.

If I don't make Sunday then a range session on Monday or Tuesday will happen. Just a tempo session.

Wednesday it's Game On with 85 the goal.

My ball striking is much better than it was leading up to the clubbies so a string of 85-88 rounds is due.

The best advice I was ever given for 'off hardpan' was to soften your grip, it often works when done right - but I am a chopper :)

Video has some good merits to it, obviously practicing your chips on the practice green is a no-no and the pro doing that is going for shock value!

Always good to get back to basics with this stuff. I go through cycles from chipping like a demon to chipping like a chopper.

has a pretty big impact on my score for any given day.

As I'm now out of work, it was good to see Vlad picking up the mantle and correcting "of" to "off".
