Played 9 hole midweek comp with my new Ping Sigma G Kinloch C putter 1 over par
putted awesome.

I have trained chipping putting again tonight and love love this new putter

Shaft runs straight into the head no turns or bends straight shaft all the way through to the head.

Me thinks I have found the right putter for me ..... well so far anyway

Anyone ever done a putter fitting on sam putt lab in the Melbourne area?

I see they offer it down at Sandhurst, was interested if they recommend specific models suited or is it fairly broad like saying any putter with plenty of toe hang for a moderate to strong arc, or face balanced for straight back and through etc.

Mouldy has, but you may not want to catch his neuroses from his response.

Hi Elhosel.

I did the SAM evaluation at Sandhurst a few years ago with Supercoach.

we checked my current putter(s).

found the one that I could aim the best.

SAM gave an insight into what was happening in my stroke, and Super coach used it to suggest some drills to overcome path issues.

ie I was showing too much forward loft and open arc to the left..

coach just moved ball back in my stance to fix problem

Recommend you go on the SAM, well worth it to check out your current putter, and try other putter types they have in the lab to get the best ball roll.

It may have changed but they didn't try to sell me a new putter, more to give an idea of how putters perform.

+1 with CBs response. Gave insight to what you are making the putter do in the backswing and followthrough. Helped me understand putting immensely. Worth a look if you struggle with putting. Also I quick note I was averaging high 40's in putts before jumping on Sam and it along with drills helped me greatly improve.

Also did not try to push a sale on a new putter.

I did one of these as well at Sandringham.  I took along my existing putters and they recommend putting counterweights in them, but otherwise they just identified which of my putters had a set up which most suited my stroke.  Apart from the cost of the counter-weights they didn't recommend I buy a new putter.

Unfortunately, the putter they identified that was most suited to me I found shockingly ugly.  It does putt well but I just don't like the look of it.  So I really *had* to buy another one once I found one in the same style but which I thought was super schmexy.   Actually, I haven't bought any new shoes in ages, so maybe they are the replacement.

Actually....I'm getting worried that I'm turning out like you.   Ended up getting another pair of shoes from Shrek (at a good price) so that makes 4 pairs.   :o  :D
