Is there a hole at a course you've played which is particularly quirky, strange or weird?

Maybe you've played a course with fences around its greens, a train or tram running across it or a hole which has more than one green.

The Dell at Lahinch - about 140m but playing into the gale we experienced on the day we were there, it was a 1-iron (back in the day when it wasn't solely for staking tomato plants).

An interesting challenge involving aiming at a white rock atop a giant sand dune. If you manage to lob it over it, or anywhere close, you'll usually end up on the green as it is bowl shaped.

Playing the previous par five 4th hole, which was downwind, I had a blind second shot over the same dunes. With my playing partner acting as a sighting rock, I hit an 8-iron, and he proceeded to provide commentary....'it's going straight for the pin.....straight over the green.....over the road.....and into the house. Run!' :o

The last at Tenterfield has boulders in front of the green. Short par 3 but a nightmare for the short hitters.

Up at Royal Myrtleford, they have a short dogleg left par 4 (4th hole from memory) with OOB along the left hand side.

OOB left is where the local speedway is located, so if you're long off the tee, you can actually fly the back straight and corner of the speedway, and land your ball on or near the green .... its a carry of about 240m I guess,

Just don't try it on a race day ...... :D

Westgate has it all, if you accidently grab 6i instead of a 9( from memory that's still far to much club for 1) you can put the ball on the bridge.
The back exit to a brothel facing a fairway and green, train line alongside the course and the 9th you tee off under the bridge as well as the dogleg par 3 which plays over someone's back yard.

Royal Park is a quirky one, 600m walk from 1-2 and 8-9 so if you play 18 there is 2.4KM of extra walking.
You cross a train line and have the tram line discet the course in multiple areas along with the sounds of lions and other assorted zoo animals going nuts ringing through the course.

As a loyal member at Westgate I think you've missed the most surprising aspect of the dogleg par 3.

The direct line to the hole is not only over someone's yard, it's over a newly constructed children's playground.

I can just picture the kids wearing hard hats yelling out to each other every time someone tees off, "Incomng!"

Luckily I have never seen a kid there. Your council dollars at work.

This golf club does exist....there's 2 18's BOTH with dual greens giving a total of 72 greens. And there's also a 3rd course under construction (may even be finished by now)

The weird thing is hardly anyone goes there because it's about 75 minutes out of Pattaya , plenty of better courses closer to town.

The day we went out there it was like a ghost town, massive hotel, empty, and no one else playing the course.

😂 Had not seen the play ground, it's years since I went there.
