I'm gonna say design.

In the majority of cases, I think a course with a great design is going to be at a conditioning level that's more than satisfactory.

A boring layout in brilliant condition is still a boring layout.

Design for mine, although having said that there is a point where condition of greens and fairways will put you right off.

Condition for me. There’s nothing worse than playing on a goat track. Fortunately in the majority of cases good designs are also accompanied by good conditioning.

This is kind of a question saying would you rather play heritage or gardener's run in their present states?

If I can win an OOM anyone can.

So if it was other way around- Chocolate covered with a turd it still will taste good?

Design is most important - Kooralbyn even in pretty poor knick the first time was special

But there’s a point where condition becomes so bad you couldn’t enjoy the best design in the world

Played titarangi in NZ in absolutely shocking condition but still had a great time because the course had you thinking on very shot.

I was thinking of NSW GC when we played there last year.    Conditions were obviously less than expected BUT I still can't stop thinking about some of the holes when it comes to thinking about the better courses that I've played.

Indeed

Although for me the views were more special than the holes themselves
