Gee Victoria GC are going well at the moment.

Sacked an A grade Super and hired a B/C grader

Sent a greens upgrade proposal to members with more holes in than a colander!!  If you were a member surely you would be asking some questions like - maybe get a second opinion after all the poorer greens on the course are the newer ones!

Welcome aboard. You would think that a club of VGC status should weather this storm.

A little intro about who you are and where you play etc would be great. Someone give this guy the link.

Have heard that there are a couple of grumpy noses out of joint down that way.
Because some idiots complain that my sig is too large:

Yes, an extremely ambitious construction period and only taking off 100mm - so what if things are not good down 100mm?  I hope they have taken plenty of core samples from each green to know what they are up against.  Can you possibly imagine greens like 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10, 11, 15,16 and 18 going under the excavator.  I hope they are not using the 14th as an example of how things will go

The greens have been rubbish at Vic for years. Good to see them doing something about it.

TNT

That's why they have consistently stayed in the top handful of courses in the country - because they have "rubbish greens" - good call

They'd be even higher with better (poa free) greens.

I played Victoria today in a trade day.

greens were hard and dry and fast but very crusty, with a shine on them.

They looked like they needed water.

could not hit high LW chips had to play 7 I run ups or hybrid from off the edge. Any shot in had to land short and bounce on, if hit middle of green went over the back.

The ball rolled OK although we missed a few that turned the opposite way to the read, could have been wind.

Yes Madam they told us today are closing down the greens for 2 months to re do them, we were one of last trade groups before closure.

rest of course was great. Always enjoy playing Victoria.
