Agree Ghetto. That's too harsh. As a public access course I think it's as good if not better than Gardiners Run

Cheers Mouldy. Mt Derrimut as it is now called cops a lot of flak and whilst I understand it's not even a second tier course, it's no slouch either.

As for airport, teeing off under the flight path is certainly an experience! I cut my social golfing teeth there on many an occasion.
Because some idiots complain that my sig is too large:

In fairness Oz, it's a few years since I was there.

But based on that...I wasn't going back.

Similar to Eynesbury??

Royal Burnley ?

harsh its not bad, a testament that its packed most days unlike Elsternwick Park a true **** hole - i would love to take it over

Waverley has santa ana fairways and the greens are pretty good even it is what it is but not as bad as some

A whole new level and seemingly forgotten would be Studley Park - unbelievably bad

Cameron...the fairways are a mixture of...well...grass...and dirt. Lots of dirt.

It was without a doubt the worst conditioned course I've ever played.

And I've played Northcote.

I don't reckon they touch the place, to be honest. Truly awful.

A couple of decent fairways...even a broken watch is right twice a day...but generally speaking...awful.

Northcote...grew up playing there when I was a teenager...went back last year for club pennant. Not as bad as Waverley. But not good.

For those that haven't been to Elsternwick, it is far worse than Northcote, Brighton isnt too far behind either

The bigger question here is what defines Metro-Melbourne? I'd argue that Melton doesn't albeit I reckon it seems in pretty good nick every time I drive past it.

Melton is coping a bit of stick. I used to play there a bit (years back) always found it in good nick with a solid layout. I mean it is not making any top 100 list but it certainly not a goat track.

Unless it has gone downhill in the last 10 years I'd prefer to play there then any metro public course that I have played - Northcote, Royal Park, Yarra Bend, Freeway, Ringwood, Albert Park, Westgate, Altona Lakes, Bundoora, Brighton, Airport.

Mind you I'd pretty much play anywhere to get a hit of golf in.

Freeway nearly drove me from the game. Playing there on a Saturday morning and after 4.5 hours still having 6 holes to play. Walked off the course as not enjoyable course or speed of game.
