New ball to start every comp round, if it disappears or gets badly marked, usually from a bunker shot then it gets replaced with another new one.

I'd replace my car if it disappeared or got damaged.

Life's to short to be a cheapskate !

A round is 1-2 holes right???

If a golf ball was meant to last more than 2 holes, then why do they put OOB, water and thick rough all over the place? Sheesh.

This thread really should be titled "who is the biggest tight arse on the forum"
6 rounds from 1 ball. Really?
Any advance on 6?

I got 9 rounds out of a vision Red last year.

But its not abou being a tight arse for me. I just dont see the point in using a new ball every round because it gets dirty.

But if it gets very scuffed, then i will change it

If I have played a good round with a ball it keeps getting another chance.   If it lasts a few rounds and I haven't lost it, it's usually pretty damaged so it goes into the "practice ball compartment" of my bag, to be used in the nets before a round.

I usually throw at least one ball in a lake per round so they usually last between 5 and 14 holes.

I usually use it till I lose it, unless it is an orange volvik and I am throwing it on to Mouldy's island in an effort to take the urine.

I start off with a new ball and it might get two rounds if it has not bounced off a few trees or otherwise copped a flogging. The norm is one round to a ball and then stays in the bag for a practice round or two.

When a ball of mine is the same one in use after 18 holes, I stick it in a frame and mount it on the wall.

Well, I will do when it happens...

I'll use a new ball for every comp round, and generally will change over to another new one at the halfway mark of the round.

If a ball finds serious tree trouble somewhere along the way, then I'll probably change it out at the start of the next hole. (I've hit balls off the tee and watched them corkscrew their way through the air due to having a previous encounter with a tree) ;)

Yeah my balls are never the problem. Generally it's the box they come in that causes dramas.
