Hey boys and girls could you please keep a colleague in your prayers, he was badly burnt from an explosion in a treatment plant at his golf club.

Foster undergoes operations following explosion
Injured Townsville Golf Club course superintendent Jason Foster has undergone two skin graft operations this week in the wake of last week’s shocking explosion.

As reported in The Cut last Friday, Foster was badly injured after an explosion in the club’s sewage treatment plant early Thursday morning. He was rushed to hospital in Townsville before being placed in an induced coma and transferred to a specialised burns unit at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital last Friday.

The AGCSA has been in contact with Jason's wife Cas today who reports that Jason has burns to a third of his body, with his arms, hands, legs and stomach requiring skin grafts. Fortuantely his face has only received superficial burns. Jason underwent skin graft operations on Tuesday and Thursday and was brought out of his medically induced coma earlier today.

"He is awake now and is talking, even joking," says Cas, who was down in Brisbane at the time of the explosion occuring. "Everything has gone to plan so far and the skin grafts have taken well. He still has a long recovery ahead but he is the strongest and most determined man I know. He is very lucky. Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."

Townsville Golf Club is hosting a fundraiser at the club tonight (Friday) to assist Jason and his family during his treatment and recovery. For more information contact the club on (07) 4779 0133 email info@tvlgc.com.au or connect with the club on Facebook

Do they know why, and could it have implications at other clubs.
Intended to break 90 this year, not going well.

Concentrating just getting round the course

Wasnt it in the sewage treatment area? Methane build up of some kind? That is crazy stuff and hopefully he has as speedy recovery as possible.

It was quiet a shock when I heard about it. Hope Jason recovers quickly. Tol, I would not think that many clubs would have sewage plants actually on the course belonging to the course. The plan is to move & rebuild the plant.
