Old Driver is Taylormade R11

Mine's a R13 (except they missed the 3 when labelling).

Went and tested all the new M3/4 woods last night. Ended up ordering an M4 driver & 3HL with some project X HZRDUS shafts. They’re seriously good clubs, M4 just offered me some extra forgiveness. I found that the sound was vastly different on the drivers in particular. It was more of a loud cracking sound on the M3 and more of a dull sounding thud on the M4. In any case I don’t really give a fk about the sound, it’s all about the results for me and I had more consistency with the M4. Looking forward to putting them into the bag soon.

Yes distance up a little but accuracy much better. Hit about 20 shots after being fitted & probably only missed 2-3 fairways. The mis-hits certainly don’t travel as well as a better strike, obviously, but I’d take giving back some metres to not be in the trees etc

Detecting sarcasm in that post so I’d recommend trying them out somewhere.

One concern is that the M3 and M4 look way open at address and even with the face angle adjustment they still sit way open to the eye. The greater the loft the more open the look, maybe that's the new forgiveness TM are trying to obtain ?

Yes Jon I noticed that when I tested them but when I tested other makes like the rogue & F8, they looked more closed, especially the Cobra club, it looked Uber closed at address. I’m not sure if it’s just my eyes, but the contrast was stark. The TM M4 gave me some impressive numbers and it felt most comfortable. Can’t wait to get it now! I was fitted to a HZRDUS Yellow S flex shaft in the driver & a HZRDUS Red S flex in the 3HL. Very long & forgiving clubs. The guy at TM told me they’re selling lots of the M4 & not very much of the M3 so maybe most other players are finding what I did as well?

Over heard local PGA coach at range telling a bloke about the "gear effect" and new TM twist face entered conversation. PGA professional said "twist face no use under 110mph swing so basically useless for average golfers".

Would like to see him ( PGA coach ) able to backup his statement with some data and facts, typical bs from someone working at the driving range !

Usually a player that can swing it at 110 mph will be able to hit the middle of the clubface, so the technology is wasted. The mug that can't hit the middle will gain the biggest advantage via miss hits but will the technology help or hinder them, yet to be proven because it's so new we can't tell ?

Yeah, agree.

Probably also talking down the tech since he has Srixon signs up everywhere.

I'll ask him about the comment, see what I can find out...

Jon...

I would've thought it would be harder to hit the middle of the face at 110mph than at say 80?
