Don't like option A or B. There's some long walks between tee's.

Your thoughts on the plans?

B looks better to me. 2 pretty long walks between holes (not including the walk from 9 to 10, because that's common anyway) but you get 18 holes.

A 15 hole course with the last 3 holes getting played twice would cause some serious flow issues if the course was busy.

true.

looks like they're trying to squeeze in a driving range & high performance spot. Seems silly when the other driving range is close by.

Driving range close by is to short and on cemetery land and the cemetery is getting po with all the golf balls coming over the fence so expectation is this range will replace it
Bigger issue is the loss of land for basketball stadium on the 7th & 8th. Originally were going to use the park behind the 8th tee but they found a pair of endangered frogs in the pond so they are now trying to take land from the Golf course

Plan A is totally stupid and will not work. There is a total stuff up every week day with old boilers just playing 9 holes. Currently they fill up the back 9 with them. It means more than 2 hours to get around. If they now go to a new back 9 with doubled up holes you're looking at 3 hours for 9 holes.

Plan B is much better but a very expensive option in comparison. Nothing wrong with the walks as in reality they're not that long. Plus they might discourage the old boilers playing.

The initial reason for leaving Sandy was being stuck behind said old boilers who jam up the course on every weekday from 7:30 to 12:30.

They really want to remove 1 and 9 from play so only 2 holes to find. There is heaps of unused land on the current back 9 but both options pretty much leave it intact. Especially squeezing one in 14-16 area. Shortening 17 and using the land between it and 12. Might end up par 67 or 68 but would be 18.

Mouldy agree but you are missing to land for the basketball stadium which is the other design constraint
If this is removed your suggestion would work

Shorten the 5th and move the green right. Put in a huge bunker or wasteland to force a 2 shot strategy. Move the 3rd tee to the left of the 2nd green to give more room.

That entire practice fairway is available for use giving lots of options.

With Clayton involved you can guarantee the big pine on 17 is gone.

Public discussion is always useful, unless some of the usual people use it gpto once again insult others. The above comments about old boilers are totally out of order as everyone has the right to their choice of recreation. If you don’t like it go elsewhere.

Having said that choice A would not work as I have played a course that did something similar and it increased the time for a round out if all proportion.

Cant argue with that.

Is the north still on track to open in April?
