I thought I had posted earlier about Berg's ranges.

They do have a full length range that is hit your own balls. It is situated between the 10th and 18th.

Kiwi is right on the other range though. It is short and is "Irons only" in that it is about 180m long and cost and number of balls.

Is the new freeway option they chose going to affect Heidelberg Joe?

I will be renting in Rosanna.  This makes Rosanna GC the front runner because it is closest to home and work.  Whilst we intend to buy a house "in the area" by the end of 2018, Rosanna GC might not end up being the most convenient in the long run.

...which makes Heidelberg an option for the first 12 months because there is no joining fee at Heidelberg.  Any thoughts or other options?

Leaning towards Rosanna.

1. Joining fee reduced by 50% at the moment....and no joining fee for my wife. That makes the joining fee $750 each.

2.  Rosanna has reciprocal link with Pacific GC in Brisbane. I spend a few weeks in Brisbane every year and Pacific is the most convenient course for me when I am there.

Whilst it may not alloys be the closest course to where we live, Rosanna will at worst only be a few extra minutes past Heidelberg GC.

I will visit both Rosanna and Heidelberg before making a decision.

Visited Rosanna today. Talked with their new GM. The good news is that range balls are included in the membership fee. The club owns their land but because of the the flood plain and some developmental restrictions it is worth only a few million, much less than the $50M or so that Heidelberg is worth. There is some debt on their books, but that is probably not unusual.

The isolation of RGC is certainly impressive...you just can’t see much of the outside world.

I was impressed with what I saw on and off the course.

RGC have a membership category that is essentially a 5.5 day membership (I.e not Sat or Thurs PM) and you don’t have to pay the entrance fee until your second year. This flexibility is attractive given the uncertainty about where we will live.

I note that the government is going for Plan A, so Heidelberg seems safe from the bulldozers.

We will play Rosanna tomorrow and Heidelberg next week.
