Great to end the year as a massive COC. Thanks to all my playing partners today!

The first step is admitting it.

The lack of comment on the greens suggests one thing......

To be honest, a bit inconsistent with speed, but couldn't find more than 20 potatoes

Couldn’t even beat you on any of the nine’s. Great effort after your big night. Could have been a great back 9 for you if it wasn’t for the greens.

Yeah I just couldn't pick the speeds :(

Only once he’s had sufficient time to recover from his nightmares from the national. Might have to take tips from you going by your last OOM.

:D play off a handicap of 28

A sensational day greeted the field for this years ISG NSW WBT COC GF event.

The course was in splendid condition and you would expect no less from the Cenrtal Coast's premium golf course. The greens had improved significantly since my last visit there early November. It seems there are 2 varieties of potat...grass used on them, probably Poa on the front nine and possibly Bermuda on the back nine. They certainly played very differently.

After a big night out before, Peppas snuck away before the 5th tee and returned a few kilos lighter, so without the bulk, he was not hitting the ball as far, maybe a little more accurate though. Snorkelguru would smash his first shot of the day on the par 5 then completely stuff the hole with his next 2 shots and top it off with 3 putts and a miss.. No where near as good as me though, on for 3, four putts later, a 7/1.

We talked about having a guaranteed top 3 finish in the WBT field of 3, but Snorkel wasn't having a bar of it, trying to finish out of the top 3 with a massive 5pts on the front nine. he came good though with 18 on the back with 2 wipes and a 1 pointer. Peppas took a swag of drugs at the half way break which seemed to steady him and he fired 19pts on the back nine with a wipe on the last, good enough for him to claim the WBT by one point. My 17pts on the front couldn't be backed up on the back, slumping to an ordinary 14pts.

Congrats to Peppas for his win, but really...a field of 3! I'd be embarrassed to claim it in those circumstances, at least there were 5 players in one of my 5 wins  .

As for the COC...congratulations to Greywolfe on his victory, apparently smashing his way around the course, only removing his bandits mask on a few occasions.  Can't wait to see what his genuine handicap will come in at...18 has been estimated. Disappointingly Greywolfe couldn't be presented with the Gold jacket because last years COC didn't return it with the un-engraved trophy!!! Cannot believe anyone would show such disdain to a prestigious event like the COC.

Of course hearty congratulations to the runner up, 2Putts...where else were you expecting to finish?  Birdie Killer was struggling without his caddy and Flog, well what a difference a year makes...46pts...sorry, 47pts last year, an obvious flash in the pan round, to a hopeless 100 off the beater this year...never in the hunt.

Thanks to all the NSW players this year, not sure what for though, hardly anyone turned up. Moving these days to Sundays, as was requested by many "because we will come and play" has seen a drop in numbers...those that said build an we will come haven't been  sighted.

Anyway the core group enjoy their golf and these days, so hopefully we will do it all again next year, starting at the home of Blacksnake..."Tronno"...see you there!

Merry Xmas and Happy New Year to all.

Cheers

Capt BarnEsy

Thanks to Barnesy and snorkelguru for the round on Sunday! As Barnesy has reported, yes I was a little under the weather and required a stop after the 5th (thank you Buddha that we went past the clubhouse then otherwise I was gonna have to **** in the woods somewhere!). After watching Barnesy 4 putt on the first I knew we were in for a special day. Add to that watching snorkel missing the ball on a chip shot, taking a divot behind the ball and having his club bounce over the top of the ball, my day was complete. A round of drinks from Barnesy, lunch from snorkel, and winning the WBT by a point from Barnesy, happy days!

Congrats to Wolfy on the win and thanks to all who came along for the potato farm chopfest. Thanks Barnesy as always for organising. Hopefully catch up with you all next year!

The lady handicapper has processed the golf from the potato patch and has said that the results look a bit desperately unlucky for some....
