To be honest on any given Saturday I would offer relief. Whatever made the hole to me doesn't matter - a unidentified animal has dug a hole that shouldn't be there so relief should be granted. If an animal such as a "Greenkeeper" made the hole with a shovel I would consider it ground under repair and offer relief.

You get relief from a hole made by a greenkeeper or his dog.

Oops, I just added that bit for Turfie.

Well....now we need to identify animals.
If there was a prize for the most stupid rule I've heard of, I think we have a winner.

If **** means what I think you mean it to mean, that's the kind of evidence that can help identify what animal dug the hole :)

Wombats can drop a wide variety of scat. Just call them all wombats, even the short haired, golden coloured, slobbery ones. If it happened overnight, it must have been nocturnal, therefore it was a wombat.

If you don't have a zoological qualified rules official on hand, just make a layman's assessment.

If someone told me I couldn't take a drop from an animal burrow because I couldn't identify the animal, I would headbutt them.

I think you have to be able to both identify and name the animal.

Tony is the burrowing animal we need to protect our bunkers from.
