Looking at joining Settlers and was hoping to get some insight from any existing members there around the following..
- how is the course draining these days? How did it hold up over the last 6 weeks?
- how accessible are weekend timesheets to 7 day members given what I understand is a healthy intake of newbies lately? Should I be able to expect to get a spot assuming I book a few days in advance etc..

Thanks heaps!!

I played there a couple of weeks ago.   Pretty "mushy" in the low lying areas of the fairways and there were some areas roped off.   Greens weren't too bad

I'm not a member, so can't answer the other questions

Played there on Sunday. Greens are good but 90% the course is an absolute quagmire and I'm surprised it was actually open given the damage that the heavy traffic is doing to it.

Very disappointing since I had quite enjoyed the course and conditions the 2 previous times I played there in the past 18 months.

I would be very concerned if I was a member there.

I played Ranfurlie about 3 weeks ago, and whilst there were some wet spots, the course was in far better condition. I know where I would be taking my membership money if I resided nearby.

I played Ranfurlie last week...probably better condition on the fairways.   I'm not sure I'd want to be a member at either though.   Just my HO

Hmmmm...thanks for the replies so far. I played Ranfurlie the other day and thought it was very heavy.. concerning that Settlers is heavier particularly with the extra traffic... any Settlers members who can provide any further insight? (in particular how quickly the course recovers in spring) would be good. Cheers

Heard from a member today that they have finally closed the course it is that wet. Not sure how long for.

I would look elsewhere, good summer track but sounds like its woeful in winter

Agree great 6 months of the year. Almost unplayable if it is wet over winter and you get more rain in September.

Lang Lang has reciprocal rights with Settler Run.

So if really want to play Settlers Run, you can join Lang Lang for 1/3 of cost,($750 per year) play golf all year round including winter (langy is on a sand base) and then play settlers every other week for $10 comp fee.

Best of both worlds.
