We have the worst cricket team since the exodus to World Series Cricket.

Our rugby team has dropped to 5th on the world rankings. Not quite the depths of 2015 but heading there.

The soccer team struggling to beat Thailand and in truth the referee crucified Thailand.

We only have one world class athlete.

Our golfers are too busy breeding, injured or not interested to win anything.

Tennis is a total disgrace.

Our swimmers mainly drowned at the recent World's.

The netball team almost lost to the Poms and got thrashed by the sheep shagggers.

In women's hockey we are ranked 5th. What happened to the perennial Olympic gold Medalists.

Our best male Bowls player is ranked 19th in the world.

Our national pride is at stake and the government is farking around with same sex marriage and standing behind DonaldvTrump.

We're in crisis mode and I don't even know who our sports minister is. The time has come for Mouldy to be appointed Minister for Sport and attend all the major sporting events. I certainly wouldn't give a trophy to Ernie Eels.

I know where the funding should go.

Not in Ian Coates pocket.

Sack Sutherland

Chuck out Cheika

Axe Ange

Etc etc

I blame the system.
When out and out guns in 3rd Grade U/14 aren't nurtured into the next pillars of Australian sport, we are doomed to mediocrity on the world stage.

Talking to a mate involved in junior footy around here.....apparently a lot of junior football matches don't have scores....so, nobody wins. And in a local underage game recently, the winning team had it's premiership points taken off them because they won by more than 90 points.

It's all about not having the losing kids growing up traumatised.

Work that one out

The fault ultimately lies fairly and squarely at the feet of the Baby Boomers and Greenies.

The Baby Boomers and their induced housing affordability issues have meant they are not downsizing into a more appropriate home to allow for a new family to move in.

This in turn has led to smaller blocks, more dense housing because the Greenies will not allow for proper urban sprawl development.

Kids don't have a pool in their back yard any more

there's no room for a tennis court and with there being so many older kiddie fiddlers nowadays, kids aren't allowed to play street cricket with the other kids a few streets away.

The next generation simply don't get the exposure to playing unorganised sports like their grand parents did.

The Baby Boomers are the ones squealing the loudest about the spoil brat sports celebrities of today, are the ones who have made them.

Discounting all of the stupid posts here, these things can be cyclical and we will get back to the top of the heap at some things.

Soccer we will never compete with the big dogs, we have been punching above our weight for some time, so there was bound to be a drop off. The world class players we had 10 years ago are gone (with Cahill on his last legs) so we need to accept that we won't make every world cup.

Tennis in Australia has been poor for years....we have to very good mens players, who seem uninterested in being world class athletes.

The cricketers play well in fits and starts, have never played well on the sub-continent, so we are about where we should be with the current talent pool.

Don't give two hoots about swimming, no idea how or why it ever became so important to Australians.

Most things you mention are team sports. Maybe our coaching pool is not as good as it once was, so they aren't getting the best out of the available talent?
