I know there's lots said about how these are a burglar's picnic.

I'm curious as to the member's experience with typical winning scores.  I know there'll be some extreme examples but I was wondering if there was a typical winning score to ambroses; e.g. low 50s.

What's your experience?

Even with a genuinely honest playing group, if you've got a team made up of something like a 3, 10, 20 and a 30ish handicap, it will be pretty easy to score low 50s. You'd be looking at a handicap of 8ish and if you birdie half the holes you're as good as there.

It's not a real competition, so the score stated by the 'winners' is irrelevant.

Huh? It was a serious question. I know there's some scandalous winning scores but those aside I was wondering if there's a generally accepted score or range that is a "winning zone score."

Scores can vary quite a lot depending on course difficulty, weather and the events rodeo requirements. In my experience four person events tend to be won in the low to mid 50s.

Okay.  Got it. [thumb up emoji]

Thanks to the others who responded.  I played in an ambrose recently where it blew worse than the British Open.  At times it was a 3 club wind.  The winning team's score made me go "hmmm".
