Just wondering how Carey will react tonight to Dangerfields suspension today. Given that he was adamant last week on "Talking Footy" that Brownlow favourites are a protected species.

Yep, a contentious issue....and many who are defending Danger are saying it was a "fair" tackle and it's how you tackle in footy.
In reality it's totally possible to lay a tackle without slamming the bloke's head into the ground. You can still lay an effective tackle without that much aggression.
My opinion was it was a brain fade by Dangerfield, spur of the moment thing, but still inexcusable....take the punishment and move on.
A few years ago Fyfe copped 2 weeks after he side bumped a bloke and their heads clashed. I doubt he would have won the Brownlow that year, but was in contention.

Danger should have got a fine similar to Franklin for rough play. The report Kruser had concussion and this was a direct result of the tackle is doubtful as it was late in the game and he could have already hsd a few knocks already
Maybe for the kangas & tiges, bust most other teams don't consider the second quarter near the end of the game.

Definitely a week. Pinning the arms and driving the head into the ground are not allowed these days and I think that is understandable, despite it being the way you were taught to tackle as a kid.
If Kreuzer got up and walked away then I don't think anything would have come from it, but him having concussion guarantees the action will be classed as medium impact to the head which is at least 2 down to 1 regardless of intent.

and the size and weight of Kruzer would have made it more difficult for Dangerfield to roll him towards his side. But he smashed his head, a week is fine with me
