Had a thought last night about this topic. There are many island courses such as King Island, Hamilton il etc that we reference in our threads.

What other ones have you played in Australia or overseas that are not so much on the radar and worth a mention for the rest of us to only dream about playing someday?

1) Name of course

2) How many holes

3) What do you like about it?

Ive played the North Stradbroke Island GC (30 min ferry from south of Brisbane) http://www.northstra...olfclub.com.au/a few times now, and its actually a decent tough 18 hole layout (9holes 2 sets of tees). Its a true sand based course and fairways can be very rough in spots (not much grass) but greens are excellent and a great view from the clubhouse back onto Moreton Bay.

Its the only course on the island with a small membership base, very welcoming, and has some cold beer on offer!

Only one I've played, Hamilton, and I'd play it again in a heart beat...2021 QLD Nationals?

Bushland layout?

Easy to lose your balls in all the bush down there.

Australia is an Island.  Unfortunately I have not played ALL the courses.  The ones I have played... the majority were 18 holes, some were 9.  I liked nearly all of them for varying reason.  Others I didn't because they were, well,  s hit!!!

1) Gilligans Island

2) 3 holes for this golfer, a few more for the other persuasion

3) Difficult choice between Ginger or Mary Anne, but, personally I prefer the girl next door, less trodden path of Mary Anne. Mrs Howell in a pinch.

1. Hidden Valley
2. 1 (the 18th)
3. It's an island....green

Actually, the whole course is ok...but it does have an island.

Like Barensky, I've played Hamilton Island.

Now THAT'S a course.

On an island.
